Mark Hicks, 66 of Sparta, died Monday January 15, 2024 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are pending.

Mr. Michael John Hoke, Sr., age 63, of Livingston, passed from this life on Sunday morning, January 14, 2024, from the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born in Mohawk, New York on October 3, 1960, to the late John Albert and Norman Bosch Hoke. Michael was a New York Giant and New York Yankees fan. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a hardworking man. During the 1980’s, he worked as a stage manager for the Al and Tory band. He loved his family dearly. Michael leaves behind his wife of 37 years Mrs. Ruth Laventure Hoke of Livingston; sons, Michael Hoke and wife Heather of Livingston, and John Hoke of Parachute, CO; step-son, William Gould and Ashley Youker of Mohawk, NY; step-daughter, Christy Laventure of Mohawk, NY; grandchildren, Orion Hoke, Amelia Hoke, Charolette Hoke, Navea Hoke, Valerie Hoke, Brittany Gould, James Gould, Kaitlyn Gould, Steven Mikal, Grace Youker, Arianna Youker, and Matthew Youker; sisters, Leight Ann Hoke, and Lisa Hoke both of Mohawk, NY; brother, Phillip Hoke and wife Jeanette of Mohawk, NY; also a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Hoke. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas (Doug) Delano Dickey, age 80 of Cookeville, will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Dr. Paul Ramsey Jr will officiate. Interment will follow at West Cemetery in Cookeville. Mr. Dickey departed from this life Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Harmony Memory Care in Brentwood. He was born July 3, 1943 in Ramer, McNairy Co, TN to Marshall Terry and Sylvia Daisy (Lumpkin) Dickey. He resided in Memphis for most of his childhood and then graduated from Messick High School in Memphis. He was a proud member of the US Army National Guard. He met his wife, Karen Furrow, in Memphis. Doug and Karen married on July 16, 1966 and celebrated 54 years of marriage until her death in 2021. Doug was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He relished time spent with his family. Annual vacations, often to the beach or the mountains, were a staple in his children’s lives. Throughout the years, his family created countless memories on those vacations. He loved sports and in his younger years, he participated in softball. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Dickey; parents, Marshall and Sylvia Dickey; and his sister, Janet Thomas. He is survived by his sister, Pamela Clark; his sons Alan Dickey Douglas (Cathy) of Brentwood, TN; and Michael Drew Dickey (Lisa) of Cookeville; grandchildren Reese Douglas, Jenny Douglas, Ethan Douglas and Brent Jared (Misty); and great grandchildren Jonas Jared, Gabe Jared, and Noah Jared. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. His family will receive friends Tuesday evening, January 16th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Wednesday, January 17th from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Cookeville chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

A Funeral Service honoring Thomas Milo Chambers, known affectionately as Tim to his loved ones, 76 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday January 18 at Sycamore Church of Christ. Bro Steve Reeder and Bro. Kevin Daughrity officiating. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. He passed away on January 12, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on September 30, 1947, in Lakeland, FL, Tim’s life was one marked by devotion to his family, his faith, and his community. Tim’s journey began as the cherished son of Samuel Ward Chambers and Patricia Lynn Woodham Chambers, who preceded him in death. His formative years in Lakeland saw him graduate from Kathleen Sr High School, laying the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and service. On a Thanksgiving Day to remember, November 28, 1968, Tim married his beloved wife, Judy Dudney Chambers at the Freestate Church of Christ. Their 55 year union was blessed with love, laughter, and a daughter, Cyndi Chambers, who would become one of Tim’s greatest joys. His legacy also lives on through his many nieces, nephews, and friends, who will miss his friendly smile. Tim dedicated 36 years of his life to Upper Cumberland Electric, where his commitment and work ethic were as steadfast as his character. His retirement was a testament to a career spent enhancing the lives of those within his community through his service. A man of deep faith, Tim was a longstanding member of Free State Church of Christ before he became a hard worker and member of Sycamore Church of Christ. His devotion led him to serve as a Past Deacon, and enjoyed his work as Past Deacon over World Bible School. Tim’s family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home and again Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or Sycamore Church of Christ World Bible School.

A Funeral Mass for Andrea Joan Dudney, affectionately known as Andrea to her friends and family, 74 of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday January 18 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Fr. Siby John will officiate. Graveside service and interment will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Joelton, TN. She passed away at her residence in Cookeville on January 13. Born on April 20, 1949, in Nashville, Andrea was a beacon of love and intelligence throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone she met. Andrea was the oldest of 12 siblings, a role she cherished and embodied with grace and strength. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Dominic Catignani and Joan Marie Smith Catignani; her brother Andrew Catignani, Jr.; and her sons, Patrick Dudney, Jr., and Michael Dudney. Her legacy continues through her beloved husband of 32 years, Patrick Dudney, her daughter Lisa Dudney, her son Ricky Dudney (Anita), her adored grandchildren Nathaniel Stevens, Colen Stevens, Kayla Dudney, and Keisha Krotie, and her cherished great-grandchildren Reese Stevens, Aubriel Stevens, Addison Stevens, and Addie Dudney. Andrea’s brothers Toney Catignani, Richard Catignani, and Linus Catignani; her sisters Cathy Cotter (Tony), Connie Horton (Steve), Theresa Calvo, Rosemary Gray (Ken), Joanie Catignani, Tina O’Connor (Mike), Bridget Rogers, and Carol Hostettler (Jeff); along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, will fondly remember her nurturing spirit and her ability to bring joy and comfort to their lives. Andrea was a devout member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Cookeville, where she actively participated and found great solace in her faith. Her commitment to her church and community was evident in her involvement and the relationships she built over the years. Andrea’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with at Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. In honor of Andrea’s enduring commitment to helping others, memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Outreach or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Graveside services for Mr. Grady Gray age 81 of Allons, will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 12 noon from the Miller Cemetery in the Allons Community of Overton Co. He passed from this life on Saturday morning, January 13, 2024 at his residence. Mr. Grady Gray was born in Celina on Tuesday, March 10, 1942 to the late Howard and Mashie (Killmon) Gray. Grady was a regional truck driver for service transport for many years and also was a dairy farmer. Grady loved his family very much and loved spending time with them especially the grandchildren. All who knew him will miss him. Survivors: Wife: Georgie Gray; 1 Son: Russell Gray and his wife Vicky; 1 Granddaughter: Chasity Choate and her husband Josh; 2 Grandsons: Shawn Gray and his wife Samantha, Weston Gray; 6 Great Grandchildren: Bragan Choate, Barrett Choate, Eli Gray, Bryleigh Choate, Baylor Choate, Bexley Choate; 3 Sisters: Wilma Wolf and her husband Kenny, Betty Sue Gray, Ann Maria Grace; A host of other family and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Susan D. Buck age 73 of Livingston, will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2 PM at Hall Funeral Home. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday morning, January 13, 2024 from the Overton County Health and Rehab with her loving family by her side. She was born in Livingston on Tuesday, January 02, 1951 to the late Alpha Ferrell. Susan was a very special lady who showed loved for her Lord and Savior and her beloved family. She loved life showing it to each one she met. Her family will miss her very much but they will remember all she done for them and the love she gave. Survivors: Husband: Jerry Buck; 1 Daughter: Misty Buck; 1 Sister: Rita Vaughn; 1 Brother: Bobby Joe Ferrell; 1 Granddaughter: Bailey Buck; 2 Grandsons: Austin Buck, Noah Buck; A host of other family and friends also survive. A funeral service for Una “Aline” Gantt, 89 of Baxter, will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Presley Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Boiling Springs Cemetery, Baxter. She passed on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at home in Baxter, surrounded by family. Born Friday, March 30, 1934 in Cookeville, she was the daughter of the late Leo Dunn and the late Ethel Dunn. She was one of four children. Aline is remembered for her love of fishing, playing cards, and dancing. She was always ready for spontaneous road trips and travelling. She was known for her Sunday dinners and delivering plates to her neighbors and anyone who wasn’t able to attend. She was famous for her Southern cookin’, especially her fried chicken and banana pudding. Aline was a good grandma and was there for her family whenever they needed her. Surviving are: daughters, Tereasa Herron of Baxter, Chris Burton of Baxter; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; 1 sister, Tina Austin of Baxter; as well as neices, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her parents, Aline was preceded in death by husband for over 48 loving years, Ronald Gantt; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Joyce Gantt; son-in-law, Steve “Mugs” Herron; great-grandson, Kaden; sister, Florene Hargis; and brother, Albert Dunn. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service on Thursday, January 18, 2024.

Funeral Services for Mary Elizabeth Haney, age 79 of Gainesboro, will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home located in Gainesboro, with Lakelan Barham, Kenny Westmoreland, and Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Byers Cemetery also located in Gainesboro. She passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was born December 25, 1944 in Gainesboro, and she was the daughter of the late Fred Garrison Pippin and the late Mary Frances Putty Pippin. Mary worked as a custodian at Jackson County Middle School for 19 years. She loved being outside, playing volleyball, dancing, country music; George Jones was her favorite, but most of all, Mary loved her family and spending time with them. Her smile and laughter was contagious. All who knew her, loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Haney; siblings, William Millard Pippin, Claron Eugene Pippin, Freddy Lee Pippin, Betty Jean Dyer, Manie Pearl Phillips, Minnie Lou Lewis, Mildred Lee Barnes, Avert Lewis, and James Harlan Pippin; and nephew, Tommy Wayne Stacy. Survivors include: Daughter- Wanda McDowell (Jamie) of Gainesboro; Nephew- Arthur Lee Stacy (Janice) of Ashland City, TN; Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.

A celebration of life for Willene Martin, 98 of Baxter, will be Friday, January 19 at 2 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Bro. John Pippin officiating. She died peacefully, Friday morning January 12, 2024 at Clarendale At Bellevue Place in Nashville. She was born April 1, 1925 in Silver Point, to the late Arby C. and Hattie Niece Butts Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Richard Harry Martin on August 20, 2001, son Richard “Ricky” Harry Martin, Jr., daughter Mary Bobo, grandson Michael Martin, sister Ruby Holst. She was a graduate of Baxter Seminary. Her faith was very important to her, she was a member of Baxter Church of Christ. She enjoyed knitting and little dogs. Willene retired as a bookkeeper with Winell Lee Lumber Company in Boma/Cookeville. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Lorie and Mackie Shanks of Pegram, TN, son and daughter-in-law Anthony “Andy” and Lisa Martin of Baxter, sister Nelda Stanton of McMinnville, grandchildren: Lacey Bobo, Reed Bobo, Allyson (Chad) Sullivan, Tyler Shanks, great-granddaughter Sophie Mack Sullivan. The family will receive friends From 12 Noon Friday until service time at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life service for James (Jim) Kyle McElroy, 34 of Silver Point, will be held at The Edge Building of Life Church in Cookeville, on Friday, January 19th at 7:00pm. An additional Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27th from 12:00-4:00pm at Sleep Inn & Suites Conference Center (29 Pines), 5872 33rd Avenue, Eau Claire, WI. He died at his residence, surrounded by loved ones, on Saturday, January 6th, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 4th, 1989, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He started his career in the Twin Cities before relocating for his career and finalizing his home in Silver Point. Jim graduated from Chippewa Falls High School with the class of 2007. He had a strong passion and love for heavy equipment, spending his career in numerous facets of the construction industry. He achieved his utmost goal of establishing McElroy Land Management, LLC., his beloved land clearing company. Jim was able to make endless relationships throughout his work, finding a way to connect with anyone that came into his path. Jim was a hardworking and dedicated man placing his heart into everything he did, learning it to its fullest. He was meticulous with his work, emphasizing and ensuring that every detail be perfected from cleaning machinery to mechanical needs, to final aspects of a project. When Jim was not working, he enjoyed hunting, going on adventures, and traveling with his family, and riding the high terrain trails of Tennessee. He had a strong love for his family, prioritizing his wife and children’s needs before his own, utilizing them as a motivator to each and every personal accomplishment. Jim is survived by his loving family, including his wife and high school sweetheart, Kayla (Schneider) McElroy; children, Payten and Coy McElroy; his mother, Mary McElroy; his sister, Cary (Brian) Proud; his nephew’s, Logan Goettl and Wyatt Proud; his father and mother in law, Brian and Linda Schneider; his brothers-in-law, Chad (Mandi) Schneider, Cory (Kim) Schneider; his sister-in-law, Carrie (Charlie) Dahl; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy McElroy; his great-grandmother, Dorothy McNamara; his friend, Alan Prueher; maternal and paternal grandparents: Maxine Kowieski, William McElroy, Dorothy Miller, Arthur Hamman, Ronald Miller; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held at The Edge Building of Life Church in Cookeville, on Friday, January 19th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

Funeral Services for William Wayne Mullican, age 73 of Sparta, will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Pistole Baptist Church with Devin Henry and Clint Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Saylors Cemetery. He passed away from his earthly home surrounded by his family on a snowy Monday, January 15, 2024 at his residence. Wayne is the son of the late William Austin and Doris Dimple Hutson Mullican. Wayne met the love of his life in high school, Janet Henry Mullican; the two celebrated 53 years of marriage in June. He was a member of White County High School Class of 1969. Wayne loved to sing gospel music and was a song leader in several local churches throughout his life. He also participated in the weekly singing on Monday at Life Care before Covid. Wayne was a member of Pistole Baptist Church. Anyone who knew him knew he had a strong faith in God and would share his love for God with you. He worked at Mallory Timers for over 25 years and started Mullican Machine & Tool Company in 1984. Wayne was involved in the North End Volunteer Fire Department in the 1980’s-90’s. He was a current member of the White County 911 Board. Wayne’s greatest joys came from serving his Lord Jesus Christ and spending time with his wife, Janet, and their three children (spouses), and eight grandchildren. He enjoyed fellowshiping with his friends and church family. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents: William Clyde and Odessa Jones Mullican, Winnie Grider Hutson, and Lemon Hutson. His in-laws L.D. and Bertie Henry. Wayne is survived by his wife Janet, and their children: Tracy Mullican Prater (Darrin) of Sparta, Terry Mullican (Leslie) of Cookeville, and Tim Mullican (Michelle) of Sparta. His grandchildren: Chase Mullican, Denton Prater, John Prater, Allison “Alli” Mullican, Leah Mullican, Sarah Mullican, Callie Prater, and Molly Mullican. His sisters: Sharon Mullican Buckner (Gary), Regina Mullican Wilhite, and Annette Mullican England (Manuel). Brother-in-laws: Buddy Henry (Joyce), Ricky Henry (Judy). Sister-in-law: Paulette Henry Dycus (Charles) as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Wayne is survived by a huge circle of loving friends and family (too many to mention). The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the church.
