Marian Elizabeth Jones, 18 of Cookeville, passed from this life on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Marian was born Tuesday, April 20, 2004, in Tallahassee, Florida, and she was the daughter of Jesse DeWayne Mamoran and Jamie Leighann (Cadenhead) Mamoran. Marian is survived by, Mother and Father, Jesse and Jamie Mamoran; 6 Siblings, Megan Doty, Alyssa Cadenhead, Zachary Jones, David Jones, Jr., Levi Mamoran, and Daniel Mamoran; Her Furry Child, Cheerio; Paternal Grandparents, Rick, and Vina Mamoran; Aunt, Jessica Neese; Uncle, Ricky, and Summer Mamoran; 3 Nieces, Piper, Kehlani, and Paisley; Nephew, Deacon; 9 Cousins, Kyle Mercer, Mykeala Mercer, Anthony Berklite, Lexi Berklite, Maddie Mamoran, Liam Mamoran, Violet Mamoran, Makayla Mamoran, and Zachary Mamoran. A host of special friends. Marian was preceded in death by, Birth Father, David Lee Jones; Paternal Great- Grandfather, Jess Fielding Mamoran; Uncle, James Edward Mamoran, Sr.; Maternal Great-Grandmother, F Muriel Cadenhead; Maternal Grandmother, Carala Cadenhead. Marian chose cremation, the family followed her wishes, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Mr. Billy Joe Scarlett, age 84 of Cookeville, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, at his home in Cookeville. A private service will be held at a later date.

Funeral Services for Roszella Abston, age 79 of Sparta, will be held in the chapel of Oaklawn Funeral Home, Sparta, on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 AM with Ralph Reagan officiating. Miss Abston passed away Tuesday, February 14 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She retired after 20+ years at Mallory Controls in Sparta. She attended Bondecroft Baptist Church. Rosie was very passionate about gardening, canning, cooking, sewing, and most of all – loving God and her family. She is survived by her companion of 32 years, Earl Lee Smith; a son, Gregory (Libby) Abston; and daughters, Teresa (Tim) Lewis, Shirley (Ronnie) Winningham, Rebecca (Todd) Stanton, and Regina Commander. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 AM until the service time at Oak Lawn.

Funeral services for Mrs. Karen Cowan, age 77 of Cookeville, will be held for Saturday, February 18 at 11 AM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Netherland Cemetery in Rickman. Mrs. Cowan passed from this life on Tuesday February 14 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville. Karen was a loving mother to her children; she had a heart of gold and helped many throughout her life. She worked as a bookkeeper with the Overton School system for 35 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends very much. A Celebration of Life for Glenda Frances Burton Marshall, age 69 of Sparta, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 18 at Board Valley Free Will Baptist Church, Sparta, with Harlen Simmons and Ray Young officiating. Mrs. Marshall passed away Tuesday, February 7 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, George W. Marshall; and daughter, Rhonda (Harlen) Simmons. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” L. Webb, age 81 of Alabama and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 am in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Blue Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery in White County. Mrs. Webb died Wednesday February 8 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center in Foley, AL. She was born January 18, 1942 in Sparta, TN to the late James Marion Doran and Beulah Mae Manus Doran. Her family moved to Cookeville and she attended Park View Elementary, Cookeville Central High and Tennessee Tech University. Kathy worked as an insurance agent as she and her husband Joe lived in Memphis, Decatur, AL, and Nashville before settling in Fairbanks, Alaska, where they lived and worked for 25 years. Most recently, they have enjoyed retirement years in Foley, Alabama. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Foster Webb; and a son, Mike (Cyndy) Webb. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth McDonald, age 78 of Sparta, will be conducted 12 noon, Saturday, February 18 from the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Bro. Andy Brewster, and Bro. Rick Gilbert will officiate. Burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Ken passed from this life on Wednesday afternoon, February 15 at his family farm in Overton County. He graduated from White County High School in 1961, then from Tennessee Tech in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Ken then went on to work with the State of Tennessee as a Probation and Parole Officer. Ken loved sports from an early age on and was a coach for many years. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid Tennessee Titans fan. Ken also enjoyed hunting and being on the lake with his friends and family. His greatest pastime was working and being on the farm. Mr. McDonald is survived by his sons, Robert (Sherry) McDonald, and Steve (Kim) McDonald. The family will welcome friends on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of services at the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ.

Funeral services for William Lee Meadows, 69 of Silver Point, will be Saturday, February 18 at 12 Noon at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh Community of Jackson County. Mr. Meadows died Friday, February 10 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a foreman and heavy equipment operator with Crowder Construction Company in Lebanon and previously with Earhart Construction Company in Mt. Juliet. Lee enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially the grandkids. He and his wife, enjoyed traveling, going to Hawaii, Niagara Falls and New York City. Survivors include wife of 37 years, Carla Dhority Meadows, daughters Autumn (Brent) Meadows and Chelsea Meadows; and son, Samuel Lee Meadows. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 PM and after 10 AM Saturday until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services Edna Ruth Jones, age 83 of Gainesboro, will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 1 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home, with Bro. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. Mrs. Jones passed away on Tuesday, February 14 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was the former owner of Jones Variety Store in Gainesboro, and a resident of the Flynns Lick community. Survivors include her son, Scottie Jones. Visitation will be Friday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Memorial services for Dan Stafford , age 74 of Gainesboro, will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 1 P.M. at New Hope Baptist Church in Gainesboro with Bro. Randy Heady officiating. Mr. Stafford passed away Sunday, February 12 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a factory worker at Nielsen, and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12 Noon until time of services at the church. The family has chosen cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital by contacting the funeral home.

A Memorial Service for David Richard Willis, age 86 of Sparta, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 18 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Sparta. Mr. Willis passed away Sunday, February 5 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. David was a devoted Jehovah Witness. He always attended the congregation meetings. He loved to share his faith with everyone he met. David was a very loving and generous man who will be missed by everyone who knew him. He had a very jolly personality. He is survived by his children, Joseph Willis, Jeffrey Willis, Dean Willis, and Carey Lynn Willis.

A visitation for John Herman Brown, age 77 of Gainesboro, will be held on Saturday February 18 from 2 P.M. – 4 P.M. in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Mr. Brown passed away on Sunday, February 12 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a truck driver, and a resident of Gainesboro. He is survived by his children, Timothy John (Jamie) Brown, Gregory Mitchell Brown, Kyle Steven Race, Christopher John (Karen) Brown, and Anna Beth Brown. The family has chosen cremation.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Deneen McAllister, age 58 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Jim Johnson will officiate. Burial to follow in the St. John Cemetery. Mrs. McAllister passed from this life on Tuesday morning, February 14 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Christian in Faith, Mary loved her friends, family, and especially her dog Abby. She enjoyed watching old movies and shows, especially Gunsmoke. Her favorite music was Rock-in-Roll. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12 noon until time of services.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Elizabeth McCann, age 84 of Livingston, will be held on Saturday February 18 at 2 PM from the Chapel of Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Carter – Bilbrey Cemetery in Livingston. Mrs. McCann passed from this life on Wednesday, February 15 at her residence. She loved her children and family very much, she will be greatly missed. Survivors include her husband, Thomas J. McCann; Daughter, Donna McCann; Sons, Thomas (Wendy) McCann, Bren (Tammy) McCann, Scott (Danielle) McCann; and two adopted sons Jared and J.J. The family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, February 18, 2023 starting at 11 AM until the start of service at 2 PM.

Funeral Services for Mr. Raymond Dale “Sonny” Reeser, age 92 of Monroe, will be conducted 2 PM Saturday, February 18 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Beaty Cemetery. Mr. Reeser passed from this life from the comfort of his home on Wednesday morning, February 15. Sonny enjoyed being a Dairy Farmer for many years. He loved and adored his children, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching westerns, talking and visiting with his friends and neighbors. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. Sonny leaves behind his children, Tony (Lue) Reeser, Mike (Sandra Smith) Reeser, Linda (Vern) Story, Tena (Joe) Windle, and Pat (Mickey) Huckeby. The family will welcome friends on Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Graveside Funeral Services For Floyd McCowan, Age 85 Of Monterey, will be conducted on Saturday, February 18 at 3:00 PM at the Phillips Cemetery in the Anderson Community. Mr. McCowan passed away on Monday, February 13 at the Overton County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Livingston. Mr. McCowan was A carpenter and factory worker. He attended Three Forks Missionary Baptist Church. He loved music and playing the guitar. Mr. Floyd is survived by his Caregiver, Robin Neely; and a brother, Loyd (Elease) McCowan. The Family Will Receive Friends at Goff Funeral Home On Saturday February 18 from 12 Noon Until 2:30 PM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carol Burgess, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, February 19 at 3:00 pm in the Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Burgess died Wednesday morning, February 15 at NHC of Cookeville. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 1 pm until service time at the Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Memorial Service for John Oliver Bohannon, 80 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, February 21 at 1:30 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Chuck Overton will officiate. Mr. Bohannon died Monday, February 13, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born September 2, 1942 in Cookeville to the late Kenneth and Kathleen Bumbalough Bohannon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son John Oliver Bohannon, Jr. He was owner/operator of Corvette Limited of Cookeville and enjoyed working on and showing his cars. John attended Colonial View Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Sandra Maddux Bohannon of Cookeville; daughter, Alicia (Les) Haffner of Cookeville; son, Barry (Macy) Bohannon of Baxter; sister, Dianne (Jim) Whitsitt of Nashville; grandchildren: Garrett and Kylie Bohannon, Emmalyn and Brooklyn Haffner. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home. A private family interment service will be held at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community at a later date.

Celebration of Life Services for James Robert “Hoss” Hull, age 89 of Monterey, will be held at Goff Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4 at 3:00 PM with Wanda Baisley officiating. Mr. Hull passed away on Monday, January 30 at Tennessee State Veterans’ Home in Murfreesboro surrounded by his family. Hoss enjoyed sports, primarily football, while growing up in Monterey and was very proud to be a member of the Class A championship Monterey High School football team in 1951. Following high school, he honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, he lived and worked in Tennessee, eventually moving to Texas where he met and married Louise. He remained in Texas 35 years before returning home to Monterey. He was perhaps best known for his readiness to tell a joke or relay a funny story from the past, as well as for his quick smile and giving heart. He is survived by a brother and sister. The family wishes to offer special thanks to Jeremy Moseley for his invaluable personal assistance and to the nurses and staff of the Tennessee State Veterans’ Home for their kindness and care shown to Hoss while he was there. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 1:00 PM until time of services at 3:00 PM.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering for Mary Dolores Graham (Manning), age 87 of Algood, will be held Saturday, March 11 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham passed away on Tuesday January 31. Dee grew up in Dundee, IL where she met and married Billy on Saturday October 22, 1955. They raised 4 children in Carpentersville IL. She was a very loving and devoted mother to her children. She worked for 30 years for Otto Engineering in Carpentersville IL. Upon retirement her and Billy moved to Algood, Tn. to enjoy the natural beauty and peacefulness that the hills of TN had to offer .She was very active with her book club and was well known for her home cooked meals. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Sandra) Graham, Ted (Michelle) Graham, Cynthia Rush, and Sandra (Kurt) Domianus. In Lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital.
