Funeral services for Auerila “Tootise” McCaleb, 78 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday December 2 at Colonial View Baptist Church. Bro. Chuck Overton and Bro. Ken Haney will officiate. Interment will follow at the West Cemetery. Tootsie passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 at her home. Her family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Rose Boatman, age 94 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, December 3rd at 1:00 pm at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
A memorial service for the late Linda Gail (Estes) Strasburg of Sparta, will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at 2:00pm at the Robinson Chapel Church in White County. Bro. Larry Wilmoth will officiate at the service. Linda passed away from a stroke complicated by Covid-19. Mrs. Strasburg passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. Linda was born on July 22, 1940, in Smithville to the late Albert and Kate (Sullivan)Estes. She was a teacher for the White County school system. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her First Husband James McKee, Second Husband Pete Strasburg, Daughter Beth McKee Waggner, Two Brothers: Don and Bass Estes, and one Sister Sylvia Estes Redmon. Her surviving family includes her daughter: Vicki (McKee) McClanahan and Husband Steve; Three Grandsons: Kris Waggoner, Dain and Alec McClanahan. And one Sister: Dora Estes.
Funeral services for Tiffany Lynn DeVillanueva, 49 of Buffalo Valley, will be held Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Gary Farris will officiate. Interment will follow in Cunningham Cemetery in White County. Mrs. DeVillanueva passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at her home. She was born April 5, 1974 in Cookeville to the late Dale and Pamela Sue Farris Delaney. Tiffany was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a kind and forgiving person and loved to talk. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Joseph “Joey” DeVillanueva of Buffalo Valley; sons, Manuel (Jasmine) DeVillanueva, Ryan DeVillanueva, and Cody (Rory) DeVillanueva; aunt, Teresa Farris (Bruce) Dockery of Cookeville; grandchildren, Manuel, Max, Alaina, Jordan, and Julian DeVillaeva, and several extended family members. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
A celebration of life memorial service for Russell Gene Flatt, 77, of Cookeville, will be held on at 3pm Sunday, December 3, 2023, at University Heights Baptist Church. Royce Huddleston is officiating the service. Burial will be a private family event at a later date. He passed away peacefully at home on November 30, 2023. Born on July 10, 1946, in Cookeville, Russell was a pastor, jack of all trades and licensed electrician. At the age of 15 he surrendered his life to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout his 60 years of ministry, he pastored churches in Tennessee, Louisiana and Kentucky. He believed in meeting people where they were and helping them in any way he could. Russell had a passion for fishing, being outdoors, and working with his hands. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy Birdwell Flatt, and their three children: Charles Flatt (Markevin), Regina Kelly (Richard), and Kathlina Alford (Lee). He is also survived by his brother, Rodney Flatt. Russell leaves behind four grandchildren: Merci Rowlett (Cameron), Charity Key (Jamey), Cole Alford, and Maggie Alford. Additionally, he has four great-grandchildren: Caiden, Owen, Oaklynn, and Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudia and Nancy Kathleen Flatt, as well as his siblings Eugenia Calloway, Raymond Flatt and Nancy Louise Flatt. Russell received his education from Capshaw Elementary, Cookeville High School, Belmont University and New Orleans Theological Seminary. He worshipped at University Heights Baptist Church where he was the pastor emeritus. Russell Gene Flatt will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of faith, kindness, and dedication to helping others will continue to inspire and impact lives for generations to come. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, December 3, 2023f rom 2-3 pm, with the service beginning at 3 pm. Services Honoring the life of Mrs. Joyce Annette Oakley, affectionately known as “JJ,” of Overton County, will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, December 3, 2023, from the First Christian Church in Livingston. Rev. James Shenko will officiate. JJ passed from this life on Thursday morning, November 30, 2023, from the Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Robert Lee and Ruth Virginia Thompson Harris. JJ graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1972. After many years of teaching nursing, JJ returned to Tennessee and received her Master of Nursing in 1980 as well as a law degree from the University of Tennessee in 1985. JJ married the late Millard Oakley in 1986 and relocated to their current home in Overton County. JJ truly believed in the mission of higher education and the importance a student’s college experience can have on their overall success. JJ and the late Millard Vaughn Oakley was known for their legacy and passion for education, and was no stranger to philanthropy. Mrs. Oakley was currently the President of Oakley First National Foundation which provides scholarships to students in need, a member of the American Nursing Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Board of Trustees at Livingston Regional Hospital, and recently the Newest Board of Trust for Cumberland University. JJ leaves behind her granddaughter, Kendall Vaughn Phillips and husband Bailey Phillips of Livingston; siblings, Greg Harris of West Virginia, and Jackie Jerrome and husband Sam of Virginia Beach, VA. The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of services.

Interment will follow at West End Church of Christ Cemetery in Silver Point. Kathy passed away Tuesday November 28 at her home. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time.
A memorial service for Phyllis Nell (Brannum) Copeland, age 69 of Byrdstown, will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. from Smyrna Church with Bro. Randy Tompkins and Bro. Ricky Cross officiating. The family has chosen cremation. Burial of the cremains will be in Smyrna Cemetery. She passed away Friday, November 3, 2023 at her residence. She was born January 25, 1954 in Byrdstown to Delmer Brannum and Gladys (Flowers) Brannum. She was a garment factory employee and a homemaker. Phyllis was survived by (2) daughters: Lisa Ledbetter and husband: Mark, Kari Beaty and husband: Jonathan; (1) son: Francis Copeland and wife: Beth; (15) grandchildren; (1) great-grandchild; (3) sisters: Georgia Walker, Sharon Bolin and Cynthia Brannum; (3) brothers: Malcolm Brannum, Delmer ‘Bubby’ Brannum and Jimmy Brannum. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Delmer and Gladys “Doodie” Brannum; Her Husband: Olen Copeland: (4) sisters: Carol Winningham, Martha ‘Toots’ Thomas, Darlene Davis and Laura Juarez; (2) brothers: David Brannum and Chris Brannum.
