Obituaries For Monday, September 30

Mr. Jim York, age 75 of Cookeville, died Sunday afternoon, September 29th at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Arrangements for Mr. York are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mr. Timmy Ralph “Tim” Massa, age 57 of Pikeville, formerly of Cookeville, will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Brown’s Mill Cemetery in Putman County. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Rudy Oakes will officiate. He passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019 at his residence. Tim was born May 2, 1962 in Cookeville, Tennessee to Virginia Ann Steel Massa and the late Ralph Claborne Massa. He was a construction worker with his specialty being in concrete work. He also worked as a supervisor for Hubbard Chicken Farms in Pikeville. He was an avid outdoorsman loving to fish and hunt. One of his great thrills was tournament fishing.

Funeral Services for Fredrick “Fred” David Hall, age 73 of Sparta, will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday Evening. Charles Martin will officiate the services. He passed away Saturday evening, September 28, 2019 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Johnny Fred and Lillian Hattie Belle England Hall. Fred was also preceded in death by his brother: Joe William Hall and a sister: Betty Jean Spry. He enjoyed fishing in Catfish Tournaments and was an avid bowler.

 

Funeral Services for Joyce Waites, 77 of Cookeville will be at 4pm on Wednesday October 2 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Bro. Gary West officiating. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery, Cookeville. Joyce passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019. Born Wednesday, February 25, 1942 in Cookeville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Wilson Brown and the late Bonnie Jared Brown. Joyce worked hard for her family, she always put others before her and was very honest. She loved her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing volleyball, basketball and coaching softball. Joyce is survived by: 3 Daughters: Bonnetta Whitehead, Barbara Jones, Sheila Whitehead. 1 Son: Joey Whitehead. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She leaves behind one sister Carolyn and a brother Jimmy. She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband Howard Whitehead, husband Zearl Waites, Sisters Elaine, Virginia , Brothers Carl, Ernest, and Rodger.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mildred Neal York, age 80, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Livingston Funeral Home. Mrs. Mildred passed from this life on Monday morning, September 30, 2019 from the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Overton County, Tennessee on September 11, 1939 to the late J.P. & Nora Mayberry Neal. Mildred worked as a nurses aid for the Overton County Health & Rehab for many years. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed being with them all the time. Mildred also loved her dog “Little Man”. Mildred leaves behind her loving husband, David York of Livingston, TN; caring daughters, Kim York of Cookeville, TN, and Karen Peek & husband Dewain of Livingston, TN; sister, Marie Holman & husband J.D. of Cookeville, TN; brother, Milton Neal of Livingston, TN; also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her sisters, Modean Raines, Margie Clark, and Morean Staggs, and brother, Millard Neal.

 

A Funeral Service for Bobby Denton Daniels, 79, will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 1pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Mr. Daniels, passed away Sunday September 29, 2019 in Sparta, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Funeral Home. Mr. Daniels was born on January 11, 1940 to the late Dee and Ida Rose Anderson Daniels. Mr. Daniels was the owner of BD Sandblasting and Painting for 39 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his; Brothers: Bill Daniels and Doug Anderson, Sister: Dorothy Teeple. Survivors include; Wife: Barbara Genelle Daniels of Sparta, TN, Son: Tim Daniels of Sparta, TN, Daughter: Kathy Daniels Brooks (James) of Tx, Grandchildren: Joshua and Justin Daniels, Sister: Leta Sellers (Yates) of Obion,TN, Brothers: Lonnie Daniels (Sula) of Crossville, TN and Ken Daniels (Diane) of Sparta, TN. Memorial Graveside Services for Mary Mae Clark, age 88 of Cookeville, Tennessee, will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11:00AM at Zion Hill Cemetery. Pastor Tommy Harris will officiate. Mary Mae Clark passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mary was born on January 5, 1931 in Alamo, Indiana to the late Charles and Bertha (White) Ammerman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Sister and 2 Brothers.
