Obituaries For Monday, March 15

Mrs.Patricia Kay Rohlander, age 80 of Sparta, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 15. While growing up, Patty Kay spent many happy summers on her beloved grandparent’s farm in Dyersburg. Once married, she and Bob traveled yearly to her favorite Storytelling Festival in Jonesboro. They raised their family in church, scoured many antiques shops and read hundreds of books together. Mrs. Rohlander is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert O. Rohlander; and Children, Robert (Donna) Rohlander, Evelin Rohlander (Clint) Havens, Lillith Kay (Patrick) King, and Matthew James (Libby) Rohlander. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Sue Stewart, 83 of Knoxville and formerly of Monterey died Sunday March 14, 2021 at 6:14 am in Westmoreland Health and Rehab in Knoxville. Arrangements are incomplete.

Graveside services and interment for Nancy Caren Byers, age 65 of Cookeville, will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday March 16 at Cookeville City Cemetery. Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. Nancy passed away Friday evening March 12, 2021 at her home. She was born February 28, 1956 in Gainesville, GA to the late George Ray Townsend and Nancy Jo Fowler. Nancy retired from the City of Cookeville as benefits coordinator with over 27 years of service. She was a former member of the Cookeville Jaycess and Upper Cumberland Horse Back Riders Association. She is survived by her husband Gary Byers; son, Justin (Rachel) Lytal of Knoxville, daughter, Loren (Jonathan) Korch of Charlotte, NC; step-sons, Gary (Amy) Byers of Murfreesboro, Michael Byers of Oak Ridge. Nancy’s family wishes to express their appreciation to Avalon Hospice for their care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cookeville/Putnam County Animal Shelter, 2650 Gainesboro Grade, Cookeville, TN 38501. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Roy Wayne Cannon, Sr., 65 of Cookeville, will be Wednesday, March 17 at 11 AM at First United Pentecostal Church, 875 South Walnut Avenue, Cookeville. Bro. Ron Phillips will officiate. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Mr. Cannon died Saturday, March 13 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Roy was a active member of First United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends. Survivors in addition to his mother, include wife of 46 years (Married April 1, 1974) Rachel Williams Cannon of Cookeville; sons Roy Jr. (Kirsten) Cannon, David Cannon all of Livingston, and Joe (Jaclyn) Cannon of Cookeville. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and after 9 AM Wednesday until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Lisa Lynn Roberts, age 55 of Sparta, will be held Wednesday March 17 at 3:00 P.M. at Black Oak Church of God. Interment will be at Carter Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts passed away on Friday, March 12th. Lisa lived and worked in Sparta her entire life. Early on, Lisa and her sister Cindy worked on the farm with their parents. Lisa graduated from White County High school in 1984. Lisa worked at Hardee’s as a biscuit maker and manager. After her second child was born, Lisa served her family full time as a devoted wife and mother. Gary and Lisa owned and operated Roberts and Son Trucking for several years. Lisa kept the books and Gary drove a truck. Lisa Served at Black Oak Church of God as a faithful member, teacher and clerk for well over 25 years. Lisa also loved to sing at church. Her church family held a special place in her heart. Lisa valued her family and her faith above everything. Survivors include her parents, Woody and Linda Howard; her husband of 31 years, Gary; and children, Hannah Roberts (Cody) Ashburn, and Dylan (Taylor) Roberts. Visitation will be Tuesday March 16 at 4:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Black Oak Church of God.
