Valerie S. Norris, 56 of Cookeville passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at her residence in Cookeville. She was the wife of Danny Norris. Valerie had chosen cremation and no services are planed at this time.
Frances Lucille Teeples, 77 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta. She was born Sunday, August 31, 1941 in Sparta, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late William Cole and the late Margaret Roberts. She was the wife of Bobby Teeples. The family has chosen cremation. No services are scheduled at this time.
Mr. Duie Cleston “DC” Robbins age 89 of Allons, Overton Co., TN passed away on Friday evening, January 25, 2019 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. Mr. Duie Cleston “DC” Robbins was born in Hilham, Overton Co., TN on April 2, 1929 to the late Bill and Liva (Maynord) Robbins. DC’s occupation was a truck driver for many years. At Mr. Duie Cleston “DC” Robbins request the family has chosen cremation. There will be no service or visitation planned.
Funeral services for Mildred Eller, age 91 of Sparta, will be Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the church of Christ at Plainview on Highway 84. Mildred passed away Monday, January 28, 2019 at NHC surrounded by her family. Mildred Frances Fowler Eller was born on Saturday, March 26, 1927 to the late Jessie Fowlerand Lovie Bumbalough Fowler in the Cherry Creek community. Mildred married Homer Lee Eller on May 27, 1944. Together they had four daughters. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one daughter: JuanitaJohnson; son-in-law Bill Starkey; and two sisters: Pearl Davis and Marie VanPelt; Survivors include: Three daughters: Patricia Dodson & Gary of Sparta, Joyce Starkey of McMinnville, Connie Harris & Mike of Sparta; One Son-in-law: Tommy Johnson; One brother-in-law: Herman Eller; One sister-in-law: Jewell Prater; Six Grandchildren: Jeff Johnson & Tracey, Johnny Dodson, Sherry Mason, Rachael Hicks, Lee Hammond & Tiffany, Michael Harris II; Great grandchildren: Eric Johnson & Shelby Johnson, Amber Mason, Cody Lowery & Tyler Lowery, James Avery Hammond; Great, great-grandchildren: Brett Garrison III. Visitation will be at from 11am until 3pm with funeral services to follow. Burial will be in the Plainview cemetery. Rev. Mike Reagan Will Officiate. Interment Will Precede The Services In The Mayland Cemetery. Mr. Phillips Was Born On May 5, 1939, In Mayland, Tennessee, To The Late William “Bill” And Anna Pearl Byers Phillips. Mr. Phillips Passed Away On Sunday, January 20, 2019, In Columbus, Georgia, At The Columbus Hospice House. Mr. Phillips Was A Man Of Varied Talents And Skills, Including Being The Owner/Operator Of Alvie Phillips Carpet Service, A Former Columbus Police Officer And A Private Pilot. He Was A United States Army Veteran Serving During The Vietnam War, A Member Of Midland Masonic Lodge 114 And A Shriner. He Will Be Remembered As Always Having Fun, Enjoying His Family And Making New Friends Wherever He Went. He Is Survived By, 3 Children, Amy Phillips Ladun And Her Fiancé, Danny, Of Augusta, GA, Alison Kittrell Of Phenix City, AL, Alan Phillips Of Columbus, GA; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Cecile Stokes And Sylvia Houston; And A Plethora Of Other Family Members And Close Friends. In Addition To His Parents, He Was Preceded In Death By 2 Brothers, Pete And Claude Phillips. The Family Will Receive Friends At The Mayland Baptist Church On Saturday, February 2, 2019, From 1:00 PM Until The Time Of Services At 2:00 PM.
