Obituaries For Monday, April 12

Funeral services for John “Tudor” Stafford, 62, of the McCoinsville community of Jackson County, TN, will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 12 Noon at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community. He passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 29, 1958, in Jackson County, TN, to the late James Edward “Foss” Stafford, Jr. and Martha Dean Pippin Stafford. He worked as a paver machine operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Jerry Stafford. Survivors include his Fiancée of 17 Years: Mary Montez of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sons: Byron Montez of Rickman, TN, and Gabriel Montez of Gainesboro, TN; 2 Sisters: Carolyn Ramsey of Livingston, TN, and Joann Carver of Gainesboro, TN; and 3 Grandchildren: Liam Montez, August River Montez, and Cameron Montez. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 12, 2021, from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Tuesday from 10 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carlene Neely Galemore, age 84 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home at 59 North Jefferson Avenue in Cookeville. She will be interred with her husband, Chuck, at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, Tennessee, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. passed away on April 9, 2021. Mrs. Galemore was born in Springfield, Tennessee, to the late Carley Buford and Nell Goodwin Neely. The family lived briefly in Gallatin and Murfreesboro before settling in the Nashville area. Carlene graduated from Donelson High School in 1954 where she was active in the school choir. She attended Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (now Tennessee Technological University) where she met her first husband, Ralph Blanton Alspaugh. They had three sons: Blanton, Kevin, and Gary. Following a divorce in Florida in 1968, Carlene and her sons moved back to Nashville. In 1974, she was introduced to Chuck Galemore, then a Tech Sergeant in the Tennessee Air National Guard. A year later they were married and Chuck, along with his son Dana, and Carlene, with her three boys, became a family. After retirement, Carlene and Chuck relocated to Cookeville where they were active for a time in the Algood Lion’s Club and served diligently together as ambassadors for ESGR (Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve). Please practice social distancing and the use of masks are appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Choir or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service.

Graveside services and interment for Erma Jewell Bowman, 83 of Cookeville will be Wednesday, April 14 at 11 AM at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Bro. Mike Dyer will officiate. Mrs. Bowman died Saturday, April 10 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a retired deli cook at Spring Street Market in Cookeville. She formerly worked at Red Kap of Cookeville and Doyle Shirt Factory. Jewell enjoyed ceramics, gardening and working in her flowers. Survivors include sons, Joe David Bowman and Jeffrey Dale Bowman both of Cookeville. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery, there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Young Coffey, age 39 of Livingston, and her infant daughter Nora Victoria Coffey will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Steven Barlow will officiate. Burial to follow in the Beaty Cemetery. Jennifer passed from this life on Friday afternoon, April 9, 2021 and her infant daughter Nora on April 5, 2021 from the Erlanger Health Systems in Chattanooga. Jennifer was born on June 12, 1981 in Livingston, Tennessee to Jimmy Young and the late Sandra Raye Roberts Young. She was a 1999 graduate of Livingston Academy and was close to having her Doctorate Degree. Jennifer was currently the Pharmacy Tech Teacher at Tennessee College of Applied Technology, where she loved teaching. Jennifer was always looking to help others before herself. he enjoyed working for Holts Family Pharmacy before becoming a teacher. Her greatest joy was her family. Jennifer leaves behind her loving husband of 11 years, Clyde Coffey of Monroe, TN; daughter, Haleigh Coffey of Monroe, TN; father, Jimmy Young of Monroe. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sherrill Kay Kolbe, 85 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, April 15th at 1:00 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Mrs. Kolbe died Sunday, April 11, 2021 at her residence. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mr. Robie Dorse Jones, age 83 of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Friday April 16 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Dr. Jim McAfee will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Robie passed away Friday April 9, 2021 at NHC of Cookeville. He was born August 30, 1937 at Bell Farm, KY to the late Dewey and Mary Miller Jones. As a young man, Robie worked in the timber industry in Big South Fork region of Kentucky and Tennessee. He later joined the US Air Force and served over 22 years prior to retirement. Robie settled in Cookeville and retired a second time after 21 years as the Manager of Long John Silver’s restaurant in Cookeville. Robie enjoyed fishing, dancing to classic county music and spending time with family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Dunn Jones, whom he married October 5, 1957 in Warrington, England; two daughters, Donna (Stanley) Jones of Dickson, TN, and Catherine Ferrell of Cookeville; four sons, Robert Jones of Cookeville, Stephen (Marie) Anderson of Yuma, AZ, Robie (Deborah) Jones of Madison, AL, and Bobby (Brenda) Jones of Rickman. His family will receive friends on Friday from 12 noon until time of services. Please practice social distancing and the use of masks are appreciated.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Johnnie H. Burchett, age 86 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Moore will officiate. Mr. Burchett died April 9th, 2021. Born October 4, 1934, Johnnie owned his own garage in California and worked as a mechanic for years. Upon returning to Cookeville, TN, Johnnie went back into the family business of carpentry. Johnnie loved to fish and loved to go camping. He loved football, golf, bowling, baseball and softball. He spent his “Grandpa” years watching all his family playing these sports. Johnnie loved his family most of all. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Thompson Burchett; son, John David (Deborah) Burchett; daughter-in-law, Lori Burchett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the family help with final expenses. His family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Willene McHenry Keith, age 96 formally of Baxter will be held Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 PM at Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Curry’s Chapel Cemetery in Jackson County. Mrs. Keith passed away Wednesday, April 7 in Mechanicsburg, PA. She was the wife of the late Isam Keith. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 17 from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial services for Marsha Jo Baldwin, 69 of Cookeville will be Saturday, April 17 at 4 PM at Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Hembree will officiate. Mrs. Baldwin died Sunday, April 11 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 17, 1951 in Cookeville to Bonnie Welch Jenkins Anderson of Cookeville and the late Joe Jenkins. She was a retired seamstress. Survivors beside her mother include husband Carsie Baldwin of Cookeville; daughter, Angie (Shane) Ashton of Alexandria; son, Brian Harris of Cookeville, step-daughter Jayme (Keith) Dyer of Donelson; and step-son, Carsey Baldwin of Smyrna. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 PM until service time at the funeral home.

A celebration of life for James Michael “Bobo” Borden, age 64 Of Cookeville, scheduled for Sunday, April 18th at Hidden Valley Golf & Country Club from 2pm-4pm. Mr. Morgan passed away on March 24th at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Michael was the General Manager of Hidden Valley Golf and Country Club for many years. He was also known as “Mr. White Plains” for the years he spent there. He was happiest on a beach, a golf course or watching the Florida Gators. He once asked the doctors if they were having trouble finding blood that was orange and blue. He was known for his sense of humor, funny one-liners and the stories he liked to tell over and over again. He was a big-hearted guy who touched many people’s lives with his kindness and generosity. He loved his family and his dogs and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Cristy; Stepson, Josh McDaniel; and his daughters, Kelli (Charles) Norris and Amanda Borden.
