Myra. Suzette Patton, 73 of Sparta, died Thursday October 8, 2020 at 8:53 pm in Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta. Arrangements are incomplete.

Graveside services for Shelah A. Cole, age 86 of Frankfort, Illinois, formerly of Sparta, will be held 10:00 am Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville, Tennessee with Military Honors. All are welcome to come and celebrate the life of a great man who touched many lives. The service will be officiated by his nephew, Ronnie Taylor. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Omega J. (Riley) Cole; their daughter, Sabrina Affeldt (Mark) and sons, Craig Cole and John Cole (Casmira). Shelah was born on December 14, 1933 in Putnam County, Tennessee to Benjamin Harrison and Winnie (Usrey) Cole. Shelah was a dedicated Christian, member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Frankfort, Illinois and a proud United States Army Veteran, he served overseas for eighteen months. Visitation Wednesday 9:00am-1:00pm at Maher Funeral Home 17101 S. 71st Ave Tinley Park Illinois.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Vivian Ruth Lampshire, age 99, of Livingston will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2020 from the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Vivian passed from this life on Thursday afternoon, October 8, 2020 from the Overton County Health & Rehab. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 30, 1921 to the late Victor & Margaret Hogue Granberg. Ms. Vivian enjoyed dinning out, flower gardening, attending yard sales, sewing, dancing, crafts, and decorating for the holidays. Ms. Vivian leaves behind her daughter, Vicki Brown & husband James Bruce; son, Lawrence Lampshire & wife Anna. The family will welcome friends at the graveside.

Graveside services for George “Hack” Haskell Taylor, 81 of Cookeville will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville. He passed from this life on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Born Sunday, September 10, 1939, in Cookeville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late George Taylor and the late Lena Greenwood Taylor. Hack shot pool since he was a youngster. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and playing fastpitch softball for Ralph’s Donut Shop. He was an umpire and softball director for the Cookeville Softball League. He owned T & H Photography Studio and worked for Acme Boot Company in Cookeville until it closed. Hack was a people person, never taking credit for what he did, he served the citizens of Cookeville as a CPD officer in the early ’70s. He was the owner of Players Sports Bar and Grill in Cookeville. He loved to travel. His pride and joy were his grandchildren.

Graveside services for Sandra Howard, age 73, of Overton County, and formerly of Cookeville, will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville on Saturday October 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Tim Turpin officiating. Mrs. Howard passed away Wednesday October 7, 2020 at Overton Co. Care and Rehab. Sandra is survived by daughter: Kimberly Turpin and husband Tim; sons: Jeremy Howard and wife Chrissy, and Jeffery Howard.

Funeral Services for Mr. Gary Sidwell, age 59 of Allons, will be conducted 2 pm Saturday, October 11th from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Bro. Jerry Buck will officiate. Burial will be in Turkey Town Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 8 pm at Speck Funeral Home. Mr. Sidwell passed from this life on Tuesday evening, October 6, 2020, from his residence. He was born in Jackson County on July 15, 1961 to the late Billy Gene and Evelyn Boles Sidwell. He loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren, going horseback riding, and fishing. Gary leaves behind his wife Patricia Sidwell of Allons; daughters Sandi Sidwell of Cookeville and Bonnie Moores of Atworth, Georgia; sons James Thornton and wife Tiffany of Baxter and Jesse Warden of Baxter

Memorial services for John William Bennis, 74 of Sparta, will be held Sunday, October 18 at 3pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. He passed from this life on Friday, October 2, 2020, at home in Sparta. John enjoyed tinkering with cars, he was the owner of John’s Garage and Wrecker Service in Bloomington Springs. He liked to “glamcamp” (glamorous camping) with all the amenities of home, but at the lake. Jet skiing was also an event he liked doing while at the lake. He was an avid Amazon shopper. John loved his family, especially his grandson, who called him PopPop. Surviving are daughter, Jennifer Bennis of Cookeville and son Jonathan Bennis of Cookeville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 18, 2020 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Ann Flatt Black, age 76 of Sparta, will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, October 11, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with honors presented by the Tennessee Nurses Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Black passed away at 10:30pm Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Life Care Center of Sparta. She was a retired nurse of more than 20 years of service with Master’s Healthcare in Algood. She loved to travel and was a Tennessee Walking Horse enthusiast. Jo Ann was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. Surviving family members include her two daughters and their spouses Cathy and Brent Copeland of Walling, Cortney and Bruce Savage of Quebeck. The family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00am until service time at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Billy Lowery will officiate.
