Mr. Price Was A Carpenter, Musician, Family Man, And A United States Navy Veteran. He Is Survived By His Wife Of 42 Years, Judy Wade Price Of Monterey, TN. The family will welcome friends at the time of services. Mrs. Stapp passed from this life on Tuesday night, September 29, 2020, from Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born in Athens, TN, on September 16, 1931, to the late David and Emma Carroll Riggs. Lela leaves behind her daughters Penny Dean and husband Jeff of Ocoee, Florida, and Bonnie Stapp of Livingston.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Louise Williams “Lucy” Manus, age 81 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, October 3, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. She passed away at 9:48p.m. on Tuesday evening, September 29, 2020 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Mrs. Manus was born October 10, 1938 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Vestal and Martha Lou Geer Williams. She had a work history that had many stops but her most enjoyable and most remembered were her 19 years in the dietary department at White County Hospital. Her fried chicken is still held in high regard with staff and patients that got to enjoy it. She alongside her late husband, were founding members of the championship winning Tennessee Figure 8 Square Dancing team. They were champions of the 1984 Smithville Fiddlers Jamboree. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by husband Carl Thomas Manus; brothers R.V. Williams and Lonnie Williams. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. John Lawson will officiate. T.J. Manus, C.J. Manus, Nathan Whiteaker, Cody Valentine, Joe Goines and Terry Stinnett will serve the family as pallbearers.

Born October 8, 1941 in Quebeck, TN. He passed from this world into his Heavenly Home the morning of September 28, 2020. He leaves behind Sons, James Kirby (Anya) and Johnny Kirby (Clarissa); Daughter, Shelly Kirby Yates (Robert). He was a loving Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Fill in Dad and Friend to many others. The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 11 a.m. till the time of the service.
Graveside services for Peggy Lee Carter Roark, age 81 of Gainesboro, will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1 PM at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Steven VanHooser will officiate the service. Roark was born March 3, 1939 in Jackson County, TN and she passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at NHC Healthcare in Smithville at the age of 81. Peggy was the daughter of Clarance Haggard Carter and Effie Lee Kirby Carter. Peggy was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired legal secretary. A lifelong resident of Jackson County she was a devoted mother, grandmother and avid reader. On October 3, 1958 she married Ray Jackson Roark. Visitation will be Saturday, October 3, 2020 from 10 am to 12:45 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funeral services for Jackie Ray Gardner, age 62 of Baxter, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday October 3 at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Kevin Daughrity will officiate. Interment with military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Jackie passed away Wednesday evening September 30, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born December 29, 1957 in Cookeville to Georgia Lewis Sherfey of Algood and the late Thurman Ray “Wobble” Gardener. Jackie was an US Army veteran and previously served in the Veterans Honor Guard. He was a truck driver prior to retirement. He was a loving husband and cared deeply about his family. In addition to his mother, Jackie is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dean Thrasher Gardner whom he married March 23, 1984; sons, Jack Janes, Jacob Bowe, and Roger Boles; sisters, Sheila Hammock, Pennie (Johnnie) Dyer, and Judy Tallent; grandchildren, Jack Janes Jr., Steven, and Tommy Janes. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 12 noon until service time. Due to COVID-19, social distancing measures will be observed.

James Shenko will officiate. Mr. Heldenbrand passed from this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from his residence. He was born in Muncie, Indiana to Frances Marie Smith and the late John Warren Heldenbrand, Sr. John was a 1987 graduate of Snider High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, then graduating from the University of Indiana. Christian in Faith, John enjoyed being a musician and playing in his band that he started in High School. John leaves behind his loving mother, Frances Smith, of Livingston. The family will welcome friends at the time of services.

She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and friend to all who knew her. She worked for several years in the restaurant business. She was of the Catholic Faith and was very giving and always taking care of everybody. She loved to read, do word searches, latch-hook crafts, going new places, and spending time with her Grandson. She is survived by two daughters, Marianne (Jason) Cunningham of Cookeville; Kimberly Onofrey of Chattanooga; and son, Mel Onofrey or Cookeville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, October 4, from 12:00 pm until time of service at 1:00 pm.

She passed away at 5:40 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at her residence. Betty was born January 17, 1940 in the Ravenscroft community of White County to the late Raymond Harold and Verna Lorene Mayfield England. She was a shirt factory worker, homemaker and supporter of her late husband’s ministry.The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Mike Owens will officiate. She is survived by Eddie Garrett, Betty “Lori” (Sam) Usrey of Sparta, Crystal (Sean) Black, Mary Beth Rogers all of Spencer, Jimmie Hopkins, Connie (Rick) Prater, Gayle (Gus) Parrish all of Sparta. Funeral services for Gilbert “Ewin” Ferrell, 76 of Cookeville, will be at 5:00 PM on Sunday at Cookeville Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Ferrell passed from this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Ewin’s family was everything to him. He loved gardening with vegetables and flowers. His African Violets were grown because his grandmother loved them. He enjoyed the outdoors, his Harley, and loved his country. Being an unselfish individual, he gave many gifts, one of them being the gift of life. He was an organ donor with Tennessee Donor Services. He was wounded in combat and a recipient of the Purple Heart during Vietnam. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Zach) Abston of Cookeville; and son, Holly Ferrell of Cookeville. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 4, 2020, at Cookeville Freewill Baptist Church, 833 S. Willow Avenue.
