Obituaries For Friday, March 26

Donna Guthrie Drochak, age 76 of Sparta, formerly of Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, March 24th at the Life Care Center of Sparta. Donna was a Member of the Alardt Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker to her family and a avid Horse Trainer. She is survived by her husband, Steven Drochak; and two sons, David Drochak of Mobile, Alabama and Terry Drochak of Olympia, Washington. The Family will have a Memorial Service at a later date.

A Memorial Service for Edward Curtis Hall, age 86 of Livingston, will be held Saturday March 27 beginning at 11:00 am from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Gregory officiating. Mr. Hall passed from this life Wednesday, March 24 at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville. He was born Tuesday, July 24, 1934 in Gainesboro. He was the son of the late Marshall W. and Cora (Masters) Hall. Curtis is survived by the mother of his children, Johnnie Hall of Livingston; two daughters, Lynne (James) Conrad Cookeville, Carol Hall of Livingston; and son, Eddie Hall of Livingston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, March 27, from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am.

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Debbie Elsa Ouellette Smith, age 54 of Rickman will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, March 27 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. James Shenko will officiate. Mrs. Debbie passed from this life on Sunday evening, March 21 from her residence. She was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey on September 5, 1967 to the late Joseph Carlton-Normad and Elise Martha Anthony Ouellette. Debbie’s greatest joy was her husband and daughter and spending time with them on the beach. She also enjoyed reading and cooking. Debbie leaves behind her husband, Ronald F. Smith of Rickman; and daughter, Jessica Elise Smith of Mt. Holly, NJ. The family will welcome friends on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until time of services at Speck Funeral Home.

Richard Harris Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Welch Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Taylor Was Born On December 16, 1937, In Overton County, Tennessee, To The Late Cluie Garrett And Rachel Smith Landers. Ms. Taylor Passed Away On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, At The Standing Stone Care And Rehabilitation Center. Ms. Taylor Worked With LBJ&C For 37 Years. She Was A Member Of Columbia Hill Baptist Church. She Is Survived By, 2 Sons And A Daughter-In-Law, Mike And Janice Howard Of Monterey, TN, Scott Howard Of Monterey. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Saturday, March 27, 2021, From 11:00 AM Until Time Of Services At 1:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Laura Edna (Flowers) Hughes, age 75 of Murfreesboro and formerly of Monroe, will be conducted 2 PM Saturday, March 27th from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Aaron Dillon and Bro. Mark Neely will officiate. Burial will be in the Wirmingham Cemetery. Mrs. Hughes passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, March 23 from St. Thomas Rutherford. She was born in Pickett County on December 20, 1945, to the late Cecil and Florence Ledford Flowers. Laura loved spending time with her grandchildren, attending family get-togethers, and going to church. She loved her little dog Bodie. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of services at 2 PM.

Funeral services with full military honor for Mr. James Cordell Richardson age 77 of Algood will be held on Saturday March 27, 2021 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Whitson funeral home, Bro. Justin Grant will officiate at his service. Mr. Richardson passed away peacefully on March 12 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Richardson served in the United states Navy after serving in the navy he met and married the absolute love of his life on March 8, 1969 in Algood TN, James adored his beautiful wife Brenda, he never let a day go by without telling her how beautiful she was and how much he loved her. James also made it a point to let his girls Angie and Nikki know how much he loved them. He had 2 wonderful son in-laws, Jimmy and Keith that he thought of as his own sons. James has 4 precious grandchildren, Paige, Caleb, Kylee and Caden, they were the apple of his eye and in papa’s eyes they done no wrong. His family was his world and he was theirs. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Brenda Richardson of Algood; and two daughters, Angie (Jimmy) Harville of Algood, and Nikki (Keith) Morrison of Cookeville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 12:00pm until the time of the services at 2:00pm.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Deborah J. Pryor, age 68 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, March 28th, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Danny Staggs will officiate. Mrs. Pryor passed from this life on Wednesday, March 24th from Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was born in Overton County on May 10, 1952, to the late Claude and Anna Mae Oakes Savage. Deborah loved spending time with her family and being involved with her church. She always enjoyed her work, tending to her garden, and working in her flowers. Mrs. Pryor leaves behind her loving husband Leslie Pryor of Livingston; and daughter, Misty Pryor of Livingston. The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 9 PM at Speck Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Margaret Louise Locke, age 82 of Jackson County, will be held on Sunday, March 28 at 2:30 pm at John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. Miss Locke passed away on Friday, March 26at her residence. Louise was the daughter of Gus and Sally Chaffin Locke. She was a member of the Cubb Creek Church of Christ and a retired factory worker. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Ruth Ann Locke of Whitleyville.

Funeral Services for Mr. Earl G. Watkins, age 80 of Livingston, will be conducted 3 PM Sunday, March 28th, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. John Keith will officiate. Burial will be in Hoover Cemetery. Mr. Watkins passed from this life on Thursday evening, March 25 from his residence. He was born in Overton County on April 1, 1940, to the late Albert Clyde and Ruby Cantrell Watkins. Earl enjoyed talking on his CB radio and trading with people. He always loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandson. Mr. Watkins leaves behind his sons, Randy Watkins and wife Vicki of Monroe and Scotty Watkins and wife Elaine of Pall Mall. The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5 PM until 9 PM at Livingston Funeral Home.

Memorial services for Shields Lynn Griggs, 76 of Cookeville, will be Monday, March 29 at 11 AM at Pleasant Grove Fellowship, 14150 Nashville Highway, Buffalo Valley. Mr. Griggs died Friday, March 19 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Shields attended Vanderbilt University. He was a retired sales representative with Neely Harwell Company in Nashville and later owned his own company, S & L Sales. After his retirement, he worked for Towne & Country Florist. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Fellowship. Shields was a musician and played in his own band, “Sounds of the South”. He later had a gospel singing group, “Redeemed” and sang and played at church, until his health began to fail. He taught Bible Study for many years, and he was an avid reader. He served on the Putnam County Fair Board for many years. He enjoyed the grandchildren and spending time with them and watching them in their sports activities. Survivors include his wife, Dr. Sharon Leftwich Griggs of Cookeville, daughters Amber Griggs and Dr. Tiffanie Wright; and son, Rick Griggs. Memorial donations to Pleasant Grove Fellowship, c/o Gail Myers, 1950 Leftwich Ridge Road, Baxter, TN 38544. The family will receive friends Monday after 9 AM until service time at the church.

A graveside service and interment for Mrs. Asylee Eugene Hulme, age 92 of Cookeville and formerly of Jackson, will be held Thursday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis. Rev. Don Davidson will officiate. Mrs. Hulme died Thursday March 25 at Morningside of Cookeville.

Memorial services for Deborah Ann Scott, 64 of the Whites Bend community of Jackson County, will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 1 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Miss Scott passed away on Monday, March 22 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1956, in Jackson County. She was a factory worker at Crotty, and a member of the Assembly of God. Survivors include her daughter, Amy (Erik) Pryor Baxter of Mt. Juliet. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 10 from 11 A.M. until time of services.

A celebration of life for James Michael “Bobo” Morgan, age 64 Of Cookeville, scheduled for Sunday, April 18th at Hidden Valley Golf & Country Club from 2pm-4pm. Mr. Morgan passed away on March 24th at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Michael was the General Manager of Hidden Valley Golf and Country Club for many years. He was also known as “Mr. White Plains” for the years he spent there. He was happiest on a beach, a golf course or watching the Florida Gators. He once asked the doctors if they were having trouble finding blood that was orange and blue. He was known for his sense of humor, funny one-liners and the stories he liked to tell over and over again. He was a big-hearted guy who touched many people’s lives with his kindness and generosity. He loved his family and his dogs and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Cristy; Stepson, Josh McDaniel; and his daughters, Kelli (Charles) Norris and Amanda Borden.
