Obituaries For Friday, March 19

Mrs. Suella Neal, 78 of Cookeville, died Friday March 19 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Tracie Carlotta Carter, 59 of Cookeville, died Thursday March 19 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Ms. Naomi Marie Conley Buckner, age 76 of Rock Island, will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, March 20 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Blue Spring Cemetery. Ms. Buckner passed away Wednesday, March 17 at her residence. Marie was born July 28, 1944 in Sparta to the late Lawrence H. & Gertie Druciller Underwood Williams. She was retired from Tenco in Smithville. She loved to quilt and sew. She was also an avid gardener and canned vegetables for all her family. Surviving family members left to cherish her memory include her children, Jack (Teresa) Manuel Buckner, Jr, and Sherry Lynn Buckner. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8:00pm and Saturday after 11:00am at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services of Evelyn J. Schinlaub, age 89 of Cookeville and formerly of Anderson, IN, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday March 20 at Brown, Butz, and Diedringe Funeral Home in Anderson, IN. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. She passed away Saturday March 13, 2021. She was born April 7, 1931 in Anderson, IN to the late Guy and Juanita Schmidt Justice. She is survived by a daughter, Jackie Campfield of Cookeville; son, Randy (wife, Jackie) Schinlaub of Rineyville, KY. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.

Funeral services for Mr. Gregory Lee Ledbetter, age 53 of Livingston, will be held Saturday March 20 at 2:00PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston; burial will follow in the Ledbetter Family Cemetery in Livingston. Mr. Ledbetter passed away Sunday March 7. Mr. Gregory Ledbetter was born in Livingston. On October 18, 1967 to Mrs. Martha Colene Boswell Ledbetter and the late Charles Edward Ledbetter. Mr. Ledbetter worked in electric maintenance and was Baptist in faith. He loved his family very much and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his mother, Colene Ledbetter; and children, Matthew Ledbetter, and Katherine Ledbetter. In lieu of flowers please give a donation to the Alpine Fire Department. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 19 from 5-8PM.

Funeral Services for Loyd Walker, age 82 of Sparta, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 20 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Doug Benningfield officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Walker passed away on March 16 at his residence. His battle with medical issues in recent years was a reflection of his courage and grace as he faced life’s challenges with a continual smile and sense of humor. He was a member of the Steven’s Street Baptist Church in Cookeville for years. He spent 30+ years working for Frito Lay and in that capacity served many local stores in Sparta and surrounding counties. In his free time, you could find Loyd working in his yard or riding his John Deere mower. He has even been lovingly accused of washing and polishing the rocks in his yard. Loyd is survived by his wife, Linda Walker of Sparta; and daughter, Sherry Walker of Yuma, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Lighthouse Christian Camp in Smithville or to your favorite charity. The family would also like to extend a special Thank You to Caris Hospice. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Beulah May Prater Anderson Randolph, age 86 of Cookeville, a native of White County, will be conducted 3:00pm Saturday, March 20, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in New Bon Air Cemetery. She passed away at 6:58am Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Beulah was born September 17, 1934 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Martin Luther and Elzadie Clouse Prater. She was a retired shirt factory worker. In addition to her factory work, she served in ministry as the preacher at Independent Holiness Church on the Crossville Highway and had a long running radio ministry. She was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother to her large family. The family will receive friends Friday from 5-8:00pm in the Quarles Room of Hunter Funeral Home. Larry Potter will officiate.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Anna Faye Boles Daniels, age 75 of Livingston, will be conducted 12 noon Sunday, March 21 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Roger Walker will officiate. Burial to follow in the Sells Cemetery in Cravenstown. Mrs. Anna Faye passed from this life on Thursday evening, March 18 from her home. She was born in Pickett Countyon September 14, 1945 to the late Archie and Tina Threet Boles. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Livingston. Anna Faye worked for many years at the Livingston Shirt Factory. She loved her family and spending time with them. Anna Faye also enjoyed making wonderful works of art with her needle and thread and watching her flowers grow. Anna Faye leaves behind her daughters, Betty McCloud of Louisville, KY, Debbie Sells and husband Tracy of Livingston, and Rita Walker and husband Roger of Livingston; and sons, Adam Daniels of Livingston, Terry Daniels of Livingston, and Jimmy Daniels and wife April of Monroe. The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Charles “Charly” Mario Avilez, age 63 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. He passed away March 16th, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was 63 years old, and was born in Riverside, California to the late George Avilez ,Jr, and Eleanor Esther Fraticelli. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronnie Avilez, and his Hanai brother, Alvin Weaver. He is survived in death by his daughter, Amber Kincaid. Charly was a loving (and funny) father, brother, uncle, son, grandfather, and husband. He was valued and loved by many in his community, and his smile and positivity were magnetic to anyone he encountered. Charly never met a stranger. His favorite pastime was riding his Harley Davidson enjoying the fresh air and beauty surrounding him on his ride. He adored a beautiful, sunny day with a light breeze, and knew to appreciate the simple pleasures that life offers. He also loved football, specifically the San Francisco 49er’s and the Tennessee Titans, and spent several years working for the Titans developing meaningful and lifelong friendships with players, coaches and everyone he interacted with during his time there. The family will receive friends 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021 and again 12:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Funeral services for Clifford Maynard, 88 of Sparta, will be conducted 3:00pm Sunday, March 21 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with military honors by the Veterans’ Honor Guard will follow in Highland Cemetery. Doug Benningfield will officiate. Mr. Maynard passed away Friday morning, March 19 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Korean conflict and received an Honorable Discharge March 11, 1954. He was a carpenter most of his adult life building many homes in White County. He also worked on a road crew building the highway leading up to Sunset Rock. He was an avid fisherman until his health declined. He loved fishing Center Hill for Walleye, Catfish and Bass. He is survived by two sons, Dale (Cindy) Maynard and Ted (Wynette) Maynard, both of Sparta; and three daughters, Vicki Young, Connie (Mike) Officer, Tammy (Arville) Pittman, all of Sparta. The family will receive friends after 1:00pm until time of the service Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Harold Edward Roberson, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Sam Davis will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery on Phifer Mountain. Mr. Roberson died Thursday March 18 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Roberson served in the National Guard before serving in the Navy. He retired from the Navy after 21 years of service, which included the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired from Ikon after 30 years of employment. He attended Caney Fork Baptist Church. His hobbies included gardening, wood working, and tinkering with computers. Those close to him describe him as a loud, friendly, opinionated jokester. He is survived by son, James (Terri) Boles of Cookeville; and daughter, Terri Boles of Allen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to Pleasant Ridge Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Freda Boles, 7400 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Sparta, TN 38583. His family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Monday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
