Funeral services for Lena Mae Guinn, age 70, of Baxter will be held Saturday, April 6th, 2019 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Sand Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2019, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Saturday, April 6, 2019, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home. Lena Mae Guinn passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at her home in Baxter, Tennessee. She was born Wednesday, July 7, 1948 in Hartsville, Tennessee to the late Jack Eden and Ida Jones Eden.
Services for Mr. Larry R. Coleman, age 64 of Crawford, will be held Saturday 6, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Hillsborough Memorial Gardens in Florida. Mr. Coleman passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at the Alive Hospice in Nashville. Mr. Coleman was born in Sylacauga, Alabama on March 26, 1955 to the late Gerald and Cleo (McDaniel) Coleman. He was a deputy here in Livingston, TN for many years and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors: Wife: Mary Coleman; Daughter: Nicole Parker and husband Larry Parker; Son: Ryan Wilson and wife Jessica; 7 Grandsons: Nicholas, Riley, Jaden, Mitchel, Christian, Cole, and Tommy; 1 Granddaughter: Harper; 2 Brothers: Garey and Ronnie Coleman; 1 Sister: Joyce (Coleman) Bahnson. Preceded in death: His parents. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday April 6, 2019 from 11 am till time of service.
Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Mae Julian, age 86, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, April 6th at 1pm at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. Bro. Mike Webb will officiate. Her family will receive friends Friday from 5pm until 8pm. and again Satruday from 11am until service time at the funeral home.

Celebration of Life for Linda Faye Phillips, 69 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. Inurnment will be in the Cookeville City Cemetery at a later date. Linda passed from this life on Friday, March 29, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Linda was born Sunday, August 7, 1949 in Portland, Tennessee and she was the daughter of the late Samuel Otto and Clara Bell (Deasy) Phillips.
Memorial service for Lawrence “Larry” Allen Sanders, 72 of Sparta, will be 1:00p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at First Baptist Church, 308 North Spring Street, Sparta. Larry passed away peacfully on April 1, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born September 17,1946, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Marshall and Pauline (Reum) Sanders. Larry was retired from Wagner/Cooper Industries/Federal-Mogul (Sparta) after 28 years of service as a machine mechanic. He enjoyed working on and drag racing cars as well as attending cruise-ins in his custom-built Rat Rod. He was well known for his knowledge of engines, transmissions, and caburetors and was always eager to help a fellow hot rod enthusiast solve problems. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Sparta and served as a deacon.Larry was a Vietnam veteran and served with the Navigators and Campus Crusade ministries. He was a gentle, kind-hearted man who loved to make people smile. He was preceded by his parents and twin brothers, Leonard and Leslie. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Pamela (Porter); children Angel (Chad) Crawford of Leander, TX, Andrew of San Antonio,TX, Allen (Trisha) of Sparta; twin sister Laura (Doug) Snyder of Hamilton, MT, Brother Marshall (Sandy) Woodland Park, CO; grandchildren Haven and Caleb Crawford of Leander, TX; Jasmine, Logan, and Tori Sanders of San Antonio,TX; and Riley and Caleigh Morris of Sparta; several sisters-and brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his many faithful friends. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. with memorial service to follow at 1:00p.m.

She passed from this life Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin. She was born Tuesday, March 25, 1930 in Gainesboro, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Georgia Velma (Richardson) Draper.

Born Tuesday, September 24, 1946 in Sparta, she was the daughter of the late William Blaylock and the late Lucille Prater. Surviving include: Karen Henry (Larry Caldwell) of Sparta, Bryan Henry,son of South Carolina, Tyler Henry ,grandson, of Chattanooga, Gary Levon Blaylock, Brother, Doyle, Larry Blaylock (Betsy) Brother, Sparta. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death: Horace B Henry, Husband, Ted Blaylock, Brother, David Blaylock, Brother, Sonny Blaylock, Brother. Eddie passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was born, June 13, 1944 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to the late Ernesto Rivera Vila and Herminier Jimnez Munoz. Eddie will long be remembered as a classical guitar builder, the “Vila”. He was a life long Bible scholar. Loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Rene and Ernie Vila; sister, Brenda Silvers. He is survived by: his wife, Vickie Harper Vila; three sons, Eddie Vila, Jr. of Texas, Matt Vila of Florida, Jeff Vila of Michigan; three daughters, Liza Guy of New York, Adelka Vila of Texas and Jarrah Soifer of Cookeville; fifteen grandchildren, Mikala Hill, Naomi Vila, Savannah Vila, Sierra Vila, Liberty Vila, Josie Vila, Dylan Vila, Megan Vila, Anthony Guy, Adriele Guy, Amber Guy, Madison Vila, Jasper Vila, Bryce Vila, and William Vila; sisters, Sonya Gutierrez in Florida and Maria Arce. Funeral services for Royce Arvel “Shorty” Leonard, age 82 of Sparta, will be conducted 3:00pm Sunday, April 7, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Mr. Leonard will be cremated following his service on Sunday. Mr. Leonard passed away on Thursday evening April 4, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Leonard was born April 6, 1936 in the Jacksboro Community of Warren County to the late Clarence & Luna Ann Pitman Leonard. He was a retired truck driver and then later a Herbalife salesman. He loved gardening and fishing. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers Harold Gene Leonard, Johnny Keith Leonard; son Royce Allen Leonard. He is survived by his partner of 33 years Sue Adkins of Sparta; Son: Tommy Royce Leonard of Sparta; Daughter: Debra Simonetti of Garland, TX; Two stepchildren: David Miller and Elizabeth Miller both of Florida; Brother: Daryl (Gail) Leonard of Sparta; Sisters: Barbara (JD) Heady, Renay Dillinger all of Sparta; Grandchildren: Andrew Leonard, Isaac Hooper of Georgia, Johnny Dixon of Garland, TX; Several extended family members, friends and neighbors also survive. The family will receive friends Sunday from noon until service time at Hunter Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Barry Lynn Brady, age 50 of Sparta, will be held 1pm Monday, April 8, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Sparta with Pastor JD Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Walling. Barry passed from this life on Thursday, April 4, 2019, at his residence. Born Monday, September 30, 1968 in Sparta, he was the son of Wilma Bain Jones and Bill Brady. Barry lived a life of service to others. His service to God was what he was he was most proud of. He is a lifetime member Gideons International. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sparta where he formerly served as deacon. Barry shared the Gospel with anyone he came in contact with. He wanted to make sure he’d see us all again in eternity. He was a firefighter and retired as Captain from the Sparta Fire Department on August 31, 2018, with over 31 years in fire service. Barry was the Sparta Firefighter of the year in 1989. He did book sales for the TN Firemen’s Association for 20 years. Barry had served as a State Certified Arson Investigator since 2006. He was Explorer Advisor of the Year in 2000. He was President of the TN Firemen’s Association in 2018 and received the TN Fire Association’s Lewis Baker Award in 2018. Barry was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the TN Advisory Committee on Arson in 2019, and in July 2019 , he will receive the TN Distinguished Service Award from the TN Fire Chief’s Association. Barry’s surviving family members include the following: wife – Dawn Brady of Sparta; sons – Tristin Morrison and Justin Morrison, both of Sparta; mother – Wilma Bain Jones of Sparta; father – Bill Brady of Sparta; brother – Bill Brady and wife Amy of Gallatin; nephew – Clay Brady and wife Kayla of Sparta; great nephews – Andrew Brady, Rylen Brady and Jayden Farley; aunt – Faye Talbert of McMinnville. Barry was preceded in death by grandparents Carl Bain, Ruth Bain and Mamie Tindell. Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, April 7th, from 3pm until 7pm at First Baptist Church of Sparta. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Gideons International or the Spring Hill Cemetery Fund.
