Obituaries For Friday, April 16

Mrs. Jenny Deborah Stacy Rice more affectionately known as Debbie, age 64, a native of White County, passed away Thursday, April 15 in Melbourne, Florida. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

A celebration of life service for Mr. Johnnie H. Burchett, age 86 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Moore will officiate. Mr. Burchett died April 9th, 2021. Born October 4, 1934, Johnnie owned his own garage in California and worked as a mechanic for years. Upon returning to Cookeville, TN, Johnnie went back into the family business of carpentry. Johnnie loved to fish and loved to go camping. He loved football, golf, bowling, baseball and softball. He spent his “Grandpa” years watching all his family playing these sports. Johnnie loved his family most of all. Johnnie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Barbara Thompson Burchett; son, John David (Deborah) Burchett; daughter-in-law, Lori Burchett. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the family help with final expenses. His family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Funeral Services for Joyce Faye Dickerson, 76 of Doyle, will be Saturday, April 17 at 11 am at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with David Copeland and Harlan Simmons officiating, burial to follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Dickerson passed away Wednesday, April 14 in Sparta. Mrs. Dickerson was born on March 9, 1945 to the late Powell and Della Simmons. She was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Dickerson is survived by her Husband of 60 years, James Dickerson; and sons, Mark Dickerson (Barbara) and Mike Dickerson (Angie) all of Sparta. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 16, 2021 at the funeral home from 4 PM – 8 PM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Willene McHenry Keith, age 96 formally of Baxter will be held Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 PM at Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Curry’s Chapel Cemetery in Jackson County. Mrs. Keith passed away Wednesday, April 7 in Mechanicsburg, PA. She was the wife of the late Isam Keith. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 17 from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial services for Marsha Jo Baldwin, 69 of Cookeville will be Saturday, April 17 at 4 PM at Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Danny Hembree will officiate. Mrs. Baldwin died Sunday, April 11 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 17, 1951 in Cookeville to Bonnie Welch Jenkins Anderson of Cookeville and the late Joe Jenkins. She was a retired seamstress. Survivors beside her mother include husband Carsie Baldwin of Cookeville; daughter, Angie (Shane) Ashton of Alexandria; son, Brian Harris of Cookeville, step-daughter Jayme (Keith) Dyer of Donelson; and step-son, Carsey Baldwin of Smyrna. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Visitation for Mr. Frankie Lynn Bumbalough, age 65 of Hendersonville, will be held Saturday evening, April 17th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held Sunday, April 18th at Smith Chapel Cemetery in the Pleasant Hill community of Cumberland County. Mr. Bumbalough died Thursday April 15 in Hendersonville. He was born March 10, 1956 in Sparta to the late Tom and Braskey “Mae” Randolph Bumbalough. Frank worked as a carpenter throughout his life, building and remodeling decks, mostly in Nashville and Franklin. He enjoyed working on old cars, playing poker and spending time outdoors fishing. Frank is survived by sons, Frank Bumbalough and wife Mary “Katie” of Hendersonville and Joshua Bumbalough of Chapel Hill.

A celebration of life for James Michael “Bobo” Borden, age 64 Of Cookeville, scheduled for Sunday, April 18th at Hidden Valley Golf & Country Club from 2pm-4pm. Mr. Morgan passed away on March 24th at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Michael was the General Manager of Hidden Valley Golf and Country Club for many years. He was also known as “Mr. White Plains” for the years he spent there. He was happiest on a beach, a golf course or watching the Florida Gators. He once asked the doctors if they were having trouble finding blood that was orange and blue. He was known for his sense of humor, funny one-liners and the stories he liked to tell over and over again. He was a big-hearted guy who touched many people’s lives with his kindness and generosity. He loved his family and his dogs and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Cristy; Stepson, Josh McDaniel; and his daughters, Kelli (Charles) Norris and Amanda Borden.

Funeral services for Charles Buford McBroom, 81 of Gainesboro, will be held on Sunday, April 18 at 2 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community. Mr. McBroom passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Celina Health and Rehab. He was married to the late Carole McBroom, who passed away January 11, 2021. He was retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the former Sheriff of Jackson County. He also worked for the Cookeville Police Department and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department. He also served in the Army National Guard. Survivors include his daughter, Kristi (Jamie) Ellis of Gainesboro; and step daughter, Teresa (Tim) Dillehay of Cookeville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 17, 2021, from 11 A.M. – 8 P.M., and Sunday from 10 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral Services For Elsie McCowan, Age 77 Of Sparta, Will Be Conducted On Sunday, April 18 At 2:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Oliver McCowan Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Moses Wilson Cemetery. Ms. McCowan Passed Away On Thursday, April 15 At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Ms. McCowan Worked With Mallory Timers. She Was A Member Of Tyler Point Freewill Baptist Church. She Lived In White County For Approximately 52 Years And Attended Copeland Chapel Church With Brother Freddie Copeland As Her Pastor. She Was Truly A Christian And A Great Prayer Warrior. She Had A Host Of Friends And Loved Ones And Her Family Expresses A Special Thank You To Lonnie Kilgore. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Sunday, April 18 From 12:00 PM Until Time Of Services At 2:00 PM.

Funeral services for Kenneth L. Vaughn, 74 of Livingston, will be held Sunday at 3pm at Halls Funeral Home on 111 Livingston. Vaughn went to be with his beloved Annie in heaven on April 12, 2021. He passed away at his home with family, following a brief illness. He was born June 18, 1946 in Livingston, Tn. To Tilda and Benjamin Vaughn. He was a member of Highland Freewill Baptist Church in Livingston. He was in the Army 101st Airborne. He was a retired truck driver of Averett Express of whom he drove for 35 years. He enjoyed farming, planting and growing his garden and taking care of his orchard. He loved showing and driving his 57 Ford Fairlane at car shows and parades locally. He is survived by his son Kreg (wife Penny) Vaughn, Cookeville. Friends and family calling hours will be on Sunday from 1 to 3 pm. Services to immediate following.

A Celebration of Life for Betty “Jane” (Chote) Bowman, 69 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, April 18 at 4:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Bullock officiating. Miss Bowman passed from this life on Monday, April 12 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Jane was a 1969 graduate of Cookeville High School. She was a life long member of the Salem Methodist Church. She retired from London Bridge Preschool in 2014. Jane is survived by, two Children, Scott and Courtney Bohannon, and Jason and Allison Bohannon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cookeville Animal Shelter or Hearts of the Cumberland. Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:00 pm until time of service at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

A memorial service for Emily Brown Cass, 76 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, April 24 at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cass died Tuesday, April 13 at Standing Stone Care and Rehab Center in Monterey. She was a graduate of St. Thomas School of Nursing. She was a retired registered nurse serving at Cookeville General (now Cookeville Regional Medical Center), White County Hospital, Smith County Hospital and Cumberland Medical Center. She was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Emily was an avid reader. She was a excellent seamstress and enjoyed cross stitch and working in her flowers. She was a great wife and mom. Survivors include husband of 51 years, (Married December 6, 1969) Douglas Cass of Cookeville; daughters Carrie Trisdale of Sparta, Emily Gentry of Buffalo Valley and Robin Owens of Chilhowie, VA. The family will receive friends 10 am until service time at the church. A lunch for those attending the service will follow at 12 noon in the church fellowship hall.

Funeral services for Julius Larosa Reynolds, age 66 of Algood, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday April 24 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Julies passed away Wednesday April 14, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1p.m until time of services.
