WCTE President and CEO Becky Magura is leaving her role, becoming the new President and CEO of Nashville Public Television.
Magura started at WCTE more than 39 years ago. In that time, she has held numerous production, educational outreach and management positions at the station.
In 1995 Magura became Station Manager, then in 2006 she was appointed as President and CEO. Magura will begin her role at NPT on September 8.

Recently, when the pandemic resulted in a need for at-home learning, she successfully served as the liaison for the Tennessee PBS At Home Learning Collaborative in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education and all six Tennessee public television stations.
For WCTE, the search begins for to fill Magura’s role. The Upper Cumberland Broadcast Council Board will meet next week to form a recruitment committee to begin the search immediately.
