The White County Public Library staff celebrated a very successful summer reading program.
Library Director Cathy Farley said the numbers weren’t a record, but they were very good.
“We had an awesome summer, I just have to tell you it was unbelievably good, we had 554 children in our summer children’s program,” Farley said.
Those children read over 14,000 books, Farley said.
Each summer, libraries around the country hold summer reading programs. Those programs give children something to do and lets them practice skills they’ve learned in the classroom.
