A single vehicle accident in Jackson County claimed the life of a Waverly, Tenn., man Wednesday.
The deceased is identified as 45-year-old Michael Johnson. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the accident happened on Dry Fork Road as Johnson attempted to back up and turn around.
A report states that Johnson had his door open and fell out as he backed off a small bridge. Sgt. Andrew Goolsby said the vehicle overturned and struck Johnson who was pronounced dead at the scene.
