Warren Sheriff’s Department Investigating Financial Crimes By Home Retailer

The Warren County Sheriff’s Department is investigating financial crimes concerning a local manufactured home seller.

Investigator Aaron Roberts said Davis Homes in McMinnville has allegedly sold homes, but multiple customers received nothing in return.

“They would pay these large amounts of money and basically never received anything from Davis Homes,” Roberts said. “Some victims are out $60,000.”

Roberts said he was asked to investigate the situation by the 31st Judicial District Attorney’s Office after multiple allegations were brought to light. Roberts said charges are pending.

“In addition to those victims, we discovered some victims got a home, but never received a title to their home and they’re living in a home without a title,” Roberts said. “Many of the victims I spoke to did not realize that.”

Roberts said the department is asking those who might have also been a victim of Davis Homes to contact law enforcement. Roberts said victims in this case are from multiple areas across Middle Tennessee.

“Some of the victims we have range from the northern counties such as Sumner around the Wesmoreland area down to the southern counties such as Franklin County and there are victims in between,” Roberts said.

Countless individuals also reported issues with homes that were sold and set up by Davis Homes as being unsatisfactory or poor installations. These issues were not found to be criminal.
