Warren Schools Moving Forward With Updated 5-Year Maintenance Plan

The Warren County Schools ready to tackle maintenance issues across the system, after the school board updated the five-year strategic plan.

Director of Schools Grant Swallows said the board adjusts the plan every year to account for the various needs of its 12 schools. Like so many school systems, Warren County used COVID money to take care of many maintenance needs. Swallows said during the first years of his administration, the system saw rapid completion.

“Within the first two years we were able to take out all, every project on that five-year plan,” Swallows said. “And so that is unprecedented and I’m sure will never happen again, but we were very fortunate in that.”

Swallows said work at Warren County Middle School is wrapping up. He said he got emotional this week when the school sent the flag up its new pole on campus.

Swallows said the latest project in the county involves putting new classrooms into the growing Centertown Elementary School. Swallows said the new classrooms are the latest of three recent building projects in the area.

“We always have to keep up with that and make sure that we are providing the best experience, and we’re real pleased with the last three building projects,” Swallows said.

Swallows said that more maintenance projects are always surfacing. He said the school board is constantly working to keep up with everyone’s needs.
