Warren Fair Wins State Honors

The Warren County Agriculture and Livestock Fair named the 2024 AA Division State Champion.

Fair President Regan Kelsey said the fair team is thankful for the recognition. Kelsey said the only competition he sees is the standards set by their own fair from previous years.

“We’re really proud of it, like I said, we don’t, we don’t do this just to win trophies, we do this because we love our community,” Kelsey said. “And you know, We got a group of people here that are invested in Warren County and they want to see the place that they live be a better place and you know when it all boils down to it, that’s why we’re doing what we do.”

Kelsey said judges from the Tennessee Association of Fairs evaluate the fair based on their own and the Department of Agriculture criteria. Kelsey said the fair is judged on factors such as how well agriculture is promoted, the appearance of the carnival and grounds, the variety of events, and even the entry gates. Kelsey also said the award confirms the fair is operating at an elite level.

Some 20 fairs are in the Warren Country district.

“It makes you look at the stuff that you are doing really well to start with, and you don’t want to miss a step, you want to continue to improve and not go backwards.

Kelsey said the award confirms that the fair is operating at an elite level. Kelsey said the award does not signal a time to slow down; rather, motivates continued improvement. Kelsey said receiving the award, helps you focus on what can be done better, while also recognizing strengths and striving for further progress. Kelsey said he takes pride in that the Warren County Fair is the only free fair in Tennessee.

“Unless you ride a ride or buy some food, it will not cost you a dime,” Regan said. “And we are the only fair in the State of Tennessee that’s doing that.”

Kelsey said the award would not be possible without the support of the community, the government, and the citizens of Warren County.
