A Warren County woman reported missing last week was found Friday afternoon in Flint, Michigan.
36-year-old Jennifer Mayfield was originally reported missing under potentially suspicious circumstances.
McMinnville Police Detective Katelyn Cannon said Mayfield’s roommate arrived home and had found the backdoor open with blood on the countertop. Cannon said after investigating several leads, they received a tip that Mayfield had family in Flint, Michigan.
“She basically created the illusion that she had either been kidnapped or something had happened to her to escape,” Cannon said. “She was on the run from drug court here in Warren County on some other pending charges and so she cut her ankle monitor off and left the state.”
Cannon said Mayfield is in custody in Flint and will be extradited to Warren County. She said Mayfield has charges of escape and other previous charges.
