Overton County Emergency Management needs volunteers to assist with cutting trees and checking on community members.
Volunteers can meet at the 911 Center Saturday at 12 Noon. The center is located at 255 Industrial Park Drive.
The chain saw crew members will assist crews in cutting trees along right-of-ways. The ability to use a saw, the ability to walk in some rough terrain and good health are all required.
Community Outreach teams will visit the hardest hit areas of Overton County to check on neighbors who have been without power several days. You will need a vehicle to drive or a willingness to carpool.
Overton County has been hard hit with power outages and setbacks from trees falling again Wednesday.
