Community service and great hospitality is being displayed in Cookeville during this week during the Blue Cross Bowl at Tennessee Tech.
Cookeville-Putnam County Vice President of Visitors Development Zach Ledbetter said the success of this week’s event depends on some 850-people who volunteer to help out.
“It’s a large event and we handle 9 games with 18 teams over three days so it adds up,” Ledbetter said. “We are very fortunate and we’ve been told that our hospitality is second to none and that Cookeville and Tennessee Tech is the absolute best place to host these championships.”
About 400 of the 850 volunteer spots are typically filled by Tennessee Tech affiliates with about 80-percent of those being Tech students.
