The official start of summer may be next week, but Cookeville officials are looking ahead to the mid point. For the third year, the city’s July 4th celebration will include SlideCKVL.
Mayor Ricky Shelton said volunteers are still needed.
“Just go online either to my page or to the SlideCKVL event page and there’s a link to click on, pick the time slot you want to work, volunteer for four hours and get some Slide tickets,” Shelton said.
SlideCKVL will take place July 1 and 2, the weekend before the holiday.
“Oh it’s very popular and it’s part of our Fourth of July Red, White and Boom celebration, its a key component, brings a lot of activity to downtown Cookeville, it’s one of those feel-good events, people can come out, actually we lowered the price of the tickets again this year,” Shelton said.
An unlimited 2-day Slide ticket is $25, two slides for $10 or five slides for $20.
