Parts of Cumberland County will be without electricity during a planned power outage Saturday.
Volunteer Energy Cooperative will disconnect power from the Crossville substation at 7 a.m. The outage will affect approximately 12,229 customers and last for at least two hours.
Officials said the project allows linemen and engineers to repair damage that previously occurred at the substation. The work will also increase the reliability of service to the Crab Orchard and Lantana substations.
Affected members live in Crab Orchard and South of Interstate 40 all the way to the Bellview area. The planned outage also reaches members as far West as the Thomas Springs area and East as far as Daysville.
