Van Buren 911 Audit Should Be Clean This Year

Van Buren County 911 Board Chairman Brian Bricker said he expects the group will have a clean audit this year.

The last two year’s audits had problems, including running in the red, Bricker said. Last year, the group reported themselves to the state and asked for help. Now there’s accounting controls in place, and a new director to make sure it’s all handled properly.

The state 911 Communications Board Executive Director Curtis Sutton said two years of audits with problems isn’t a big deal, but three years is a red flag. Bricker believes the problems have been sorted out.
