Upperman Middle School Principal Shannon Pirtle is transferring to Cane Creek Elementary School to serve as assistant principal.
Pirtle requested for the change after 10 years at Upperman Middle School. Pirtle said in a release that it was time for a change.
“I love this school, the people here, and the community. However, I feel like it’s time for a change,” Pirtle said. “I am excited about the opportunity to take on new challenges and responsibilities.”
As a result, Cane Creek Assistant Principal, Kelly Montgomery, will move to a VITAL teaching position to assist with virtual learning. The now vacant Upperman Middle School principal position was posted Wednesday. According to the Putnam County School System, the timeline to fill the vacancy will move fairly quickly.
Pirtle will official start work at Cane Creek Elementary School on July 1st.
