Upper Cumberland Schools Receive Work-Based Learning Grants

Four Upper Cumberland school districts received work-based learning grants today from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

The funding is designed to assist with the development or expansion of work-based learning programs that promote career awareness and student readiness in grades K-through-12.

“This investment by the TNECD in our community is tremendous news for our youngest citizens,” said Republican Caucus Chairman Ryan Williams. “When we support our children and provide them with innovative opportunities to further their education and overall experience, all of Tennessee benefits.”

School systems in Putnam, Smith, Warren, and White County received the grants. All total, the state awarded $710,000 to 29 schools districts across the state.
