Upper Cumberland Easter Services Return In-Person

After a year trying to stay connected through virtual and limited services, churches will gather again for Easter Sunday.

River Community Church Pastor Steve Tiebout said without being able to gather last Easter, they will have four services this weekend. Tiebout said this weekend will be a celebration for the church.

“I think there’s a true hunger for community and gathering together again,” Tiebout said. “To restore a lot of the things that people miss, family, friendships, faith.”

River Community Church services will begin on Friday at 6:30 PM. Those will pick back up on Sunday, with an 8:15 AM mask required service and two additional services at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM.

Livingston First Church Senior Pastor John Cahill said the past year has been a struggle trying to stay engaged with the congregation. However, Cahill said the time is here for churchgoers to get what they missed in 2020.

“I think the whole church has an energy about it,” Cahill said. “With the idea that we’re all going to be able to celebrate resurrection Sunday in the church building again. So we’re excited.”

Livingston First Church will gather on Easter Sunday at 10:00 AM.
