UCHRA Contracts New Provider For Delivered, Congregate Meals

UCHRA’s nutrition program has a new provider for home delivered and senior center meals.

Area Agency on Aging and Disability Director Holly Williams said the new provider will deliver meals for 300 people across nine counties.

“We will now have a hot meal solution for every county in the Upper Cumberland region, which it has taken us some time to get back to that point since COVID hit,” Williams said. “We are very pleased with where we are in the nutrition program.”

Williams said about 700 congregate meals across six counties will go to senior centers. The provider contract goes out for bid once every four years. The process took place this spring and Fit Clean Meals became the provider.

Owner Ajay Koleth said he is working on a business location in Hilham at the moment, but there will not be a break in service. He said meals will start deliveries on Monday.

“The audience will not have a break in meals, and they will have meals until we set up shop,” Koleth said.

Koleth said he is also looking for local staff to help operate the new location. Williams said work continues to keep improving services for aging populations.

“We are continuing to seek new providers in those areas such as home maker and personal care,” Williams said. “We’ve also recently added some new services to our menu for clients to choose from. We are trying to broaden the services we offer to clients in an effort to provide support to them in the home.”
