UCDD Did A Lot With A Little Art Grant

The Upper Cumberland Development District said more than 9,000 residents benefited from the most recent round of art grants.

UCDD spokesman Sarah Cunningham said 2018 grants will be announced soon.

The UCDD has done a lot with a little grant. Last year, the group received a grant for $18,650 from the Tennessee Arts Commission late last year.

That money funded 11 projects in 7 counties. More than 200 artists worked on the programs.

Those programs include the Algood Senior Center’s quilt square project on barns and buildings. A fine arts camp for students in Fentress County received funding. Free outdoor concerts, plays, festivals and art workshops all received part of the grant.
