New UCDD Building Set To Open In August

The Upper Cumberland Development District hopes to open its new central office this summer.

Mark Farley is the executive director of the UCDD.

“Everything is progressing. We’re already putting the base coats of paint on and they were running the rods to hang the drop ceiling,” Farley said. “We’re looking at taking possession at the end of July and start moving the first of August.”

The new office building will be located along England Drive near the intersection of Highway 111 and I-40 in Cookeville. The 20,000 square foot facility provides the agency with more room and will eventually host shared-management meetings with the UCHRA.

Farley said he’s hoping to hold the UCDD’s annual meeting at the new building in September.

“We’ll want to make that part of our grand opening,” Farley said. “It just so happens that this is timing to our 50th Birthday, so we want to make a very special day.”

The $3.6 million project began in July, 2018.
