The Upper Cumberland Development District has created a new COVID Response Coordinator position to facilitate recovery efforts for local municipalities and businesses.
Kim England will serve as coordinator and give COVID updates, Executive Order updates and any new information useful to city and county mayors. England said with protocols often changing, Upper Cumberland leaders need a resource for reliable information and support.
“I understand that pressure on public officials to act is enormous, and in a fast-moving crisis, it can be a challenge to gain clarity amid the chaos of the pandemic,” England said. “As COVID-19 Recovery Coordinator, I am eager to support officials across the Upper Cumberland in their efforts to develop strategies that will enhance recovery and economic resilience.”
England will also work with UCDD’s Economic and Community Development and Small Business Development Center.
“Coming from an administrative role with a local county government, I have seen first-hand how information swarms in from every direction,” England said. “Citizens look to their government officials for reliable information, guidance, and leadership.”
The Upper Cumberland Development District provides regional planning and assistance to 14 counties to promote economic growth and community enhancement.
