Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity moving through the process to fill former Director Pam Ealey’s role.
Board President Randy Carlile said the position has been posted and the local group is working with the state affiliate to find the right candidate. He said the ultimate goal is to find someone with a heart for the job and a connection to the area.
“I think really having a good understanding of the Upper Cumberland market, the housing need, the people we’re trying to find suitable housing for is crucial,” Carlile said. “So I think understanding that is important.”
Carlile said there have been some 15 applicants and a four-person committee will be going through the interviews with all the candidates. He said Ealey had big shoes to fill, and they are working diligently to find the right candidate.
Carlile said there is not a specific timeline to fill the role, but ideally they will have a candidate by the end of April or early May. In the meantime, Carlile said Mike Porten is serving as the Interim Director.
