UC Airport Looking For Buyers For Old Farm House

The Upper Cumberland Airport wants to sell a house on its property and get the house moved to allow more space for expansion.

Airport Manager Dean Selby said the house interferes with the virtual airspace as well as the long-range master plans to build a ramp on the property.

“The house itself is not apart of the long range plan,” Selby said. “It needs to be auctioned and moved. Hopefully someone can use that and be something that can be reused instead of going to waste”

Selby said the airport originally bought the property with the house to expand the real estate around the airport. Airport officials had rented the house, but the tenant departed.

“The house was never attended to be apart of that property purchase,” Selby said. “It just so happened it was on the property.”

Selby said the house is very old and needs a lot of work. He said multiple contractors have expressed interest in the home.
