Two-Year-Old Suffered Life-Threatening Injuries After Monday Accident

A two-year-old boy was ejected from a vehicle after an accident Monday morning.

According to reports from Cookeville Police, 28-year-old Heather Phillips of Cookeville was traveling westbound on West Jackson Street near Maxwell Street when the vehicle left the roadway while negotiating a left curve and struck a utility pole.

The two-year-old was not secured in a child safety seat and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was transported by EMS ground to Vanderbilt as weather conditions prevented air transport.
