Charges pending after a two-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon along US-127 in Cumberland County.
38-year-old Jessie Michael Stephens of Jamestown is in stable condition after being airlifted to UT Medical Center in Knoxville. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Stephens was driving south on Highway 127 at a high rate of speed. As he came over a hill, Stephens swerved into the southbound lane. Stephens hit a 2003 Ford Taurus, driven by 53-year-old Wade Boyd Bolin of Crossville head-on.
Stephens’ pickup rolled over on its top, throwing the driver onto the roadway before coming to rest on the roadway shoulder. The Taurus also overturned coming to rest in the ditch.
Bolin was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. THP charged Bolin with driving on a revoked license and expired registration. Charges against Stephens are pending.
The accident occurred just before 5pm near Old Elmore Road.
