The Putnam County Election Commission has made some small changes at two of the county’s voting precincts.
The commission will relocate voting machines at Upperman High School (UHS) and Sycamore Church of Christ. Chairman Phil Adams said UHS voters will now cast ballots in the school library rather than outside the gym area.
“If you recall, we wanted to move to a new location and Upperman wanted a new location as well because the hallway wasn’t working good,” Adams said. “The library has an entrance right off the outside. There’s handicapped parking right there and its easy access with restrooms down the hall.”
A construction project forced the commission to relocate voting machines at Sycamore Church of Christ. Commissioner Linda Daniel said voters will cast ballots in a new foyer and hallway area.
“We can come in the main door, which is right off of out handicapped parking in the front, which is well-marked,” Daniel said. “Plus, it’s just across the street from the road that comes our from Sycamore School, so there’s ample parking at the school.”
These changes will occur on Election Day, which is March 3. All early voting takes place at the Putnam County Election Commission Office.
