A fire at a Cookeville apartment complex has injured two people.
Cookeville firefighters responded to the Cypress Creek Apartments at 600 West 8th Street Tuesday around 4:47 p.m.
Cookeville Fire Chief Daryl Blair reports a laundry basket caught fire in the bedroom of a unit causing minor damage. Blair said the two occupants were transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center for smoke inhalation.
Officials say no firefighters were injured while responding to the incident. Crews did manage to put out the fire but remain on scene for cleanup operations.
