A Chestnut Mound man and a passenger were transported to the hospital after a Wednesday afternoon accident.
It happened just after 1pm along Highway 96 in Putnam County. A vehicle driven by 24-year-old Harold E. Tunnicliff III crossed the center line in a curve. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a tree head-on.
Tunnicliff was transported to Cookeville Regional. The passenger, Taylor Hunt of LaVergne, taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, charges are pending.
