Two Fires Break Out In Jackson County Tuesday

A fire destroyed a home in Jackson County’s McCoinsville Community Wednesday morning.

A fire destroyed a home in Jackson County’s McCoinsville Community. Crews battled frigid temperatures as they worked to extinguish the fire until early Wednesday morning.

The blaze broke out late Tuesday evening, but crews didn’t extinguish the flames until early this morning.

Jackson County Central Fire Department Chief Jeff Conn said the residents and their pets managed to escape unharmed.

Firemen also responded to a fire Tuesday afternoon at the Jackson County Utility District shop. A press release said crews quickly knocked down the blaze and saved a majority of the structure and its contents.

Conn said no injuries occurred during the fires.
