Two Drunk Drivers Cause Damage In Crossville

Two men charged with drunk driving caused damage Saturday night in two separate incidents.

48-year-old Charles Hamby arrested following a hit and run incident along South Main Street around 10:00 Saturday night. A security officer officers security footage that showed a red four-door truck, driven by Hamby, backing into a maroon Dodge Caravan.

Police contacted Hamby and had him return to the scene. He showed up being driven by his niece. Police reports said Hamby smelled of alcohol. Hamby taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center.

Just after 11:00 Saturday night, police responded to Kat’s Car Wash on West Avenue where a truck had crashed into a concrete wall. When police found the Ford F-350 truck, officers found no one inside. Patrol officers found 22-year-old Robert Earl Reagan, Jr. walking on foot near Taylor Street. Both the truck and Reagan smelled of alcohol, according to police reports.

Reagan admitted he had crashed into the building. Reports said he became uncooperative with both police and EMS officials who arrived to check his condition. Police transported Reagan to jail on multiple charges including DUI.
