Two Arrested On Drug Charges After Monterey Traffic Stop

The Monterey Police Department arrested two men Wednesday night after a traffic stop yielded drug paraphernalia.

A vehicle light law violation lead to a consensual search by Police Officer Andrew Neff. According to the police department, 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine, digital scales and items commonly used in illegal drug sales were found in the vehicle.

Driver Kenneth Covert was charged with the manufacture, sell and delivery of a schedule two drug in a school zone, simple possession of a schedule six drug, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Aside from the drug charges, Passenger Jeremy Winebrenner was also served an active warrant for failure to appear in court.
