The Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested two Lebanon residents Sunday following an accident along I-40.
Arrest warrants state 41-year-old Austin Lee Davis and 27-year-old Kelly Rene Roth were both charged after colliding with another vehicle.
Responding troopers noticed Davis, who was driving when the accident occurred, had red watery eyes and an odor of an alcoholic beverage. Both Davis and Roth, who was a passenger in Davis’s vehicle, admitted to taking oxycodone earlier in the day for back pain and drinking wine during a pedicure visit.
Arrest warrants indicate Davis failed multiple field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Information regarding the second vehicle involved in the crash has not yet been made available.
Davis was charged with driving under the influence while Roth was charged with public intoxication. Both have since posted bond as Davis is scheduled to appear in court May 10 at the Putnam County Justice Center, while Roth will appear June 14.
