The vehicle finally came to a stop near Davenport Crossing, where a passenger, Toby Joe Lee Godsey, age 43, of Crossville, fled on foot. Deputies pursued and apprehended him in a wooded area near Coal Hollow Tip Road.

Godsey was charged with evading arrest and served two outstanding warrants. He was jailed on $11,500 bond and is due in court October 11.

Meanwhile, the driver, Joseph Michael Grimme, age 35, of Crab Orchard, was arrested and charged with evading arrest and driving on a revoked driver’s license. Jailed and placed under $6,000 bond, Grimme is due to make an October 29 court appearance.
