Two Airlifted Following Sunday Morning Crash

Two people suffered injuries following a single vehicle accident in DeKalb County yesterday.

Officials say the accident happened around 5:30 a.m. on Highway 56 in the Shiney Rock area.

The crash sent 51-year-old Tammy Gallant and 50-year-old Larry Rundle to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Authorities said Gallant was driving a Hyundai Tucson south bound when the vehicle left the roadway, hit a ditch, and struck a tree.

Both individuals remain hospitalized at this time.
