Tennessee Tech has renamed its Office of Disability Services to the Accessible Education Center (AEC).
According to a press release, the newly-named Accessible Education Center will retain the same duties as the old Office of Disability Services.
Director Chester Goad said in the release that the department’s growth over the last several years and comprehensive service offering prompted the change.
According to the release, Tennessee Tech currently assists nearly 400 students with academic accommodations while another 82 receive housing assistance. AEC staff members are anticipating nearly 600 total students will need some sort of accommodations or assistance this fall.
Students needing academic or housing accommodations this fall can visit the AEC located inside the Roaden University Center. More information can be found on Tennessee Tech’s website.
