It is study time at Tennessee Tech.
Chief Communication Officer Karen Lykins said this week is the last week of classes before finals, aka, “Dead Week.”
“But, it is anything, but dead,” Lykins said. “That just means that you’re finishing up things. You don’t have new projects started. You get together with your group. Study for your finals. It’s a week where you have some more flexibility to get those things done, but it’s also a week where you’re probably staying up late to get it all accomplished.”
Lykins said finals are the big topic among students as they review a semester’s worth of knowledge. Lykins said often times students are stressed, so parents are encouraged to send care packages for the home stretch.
“Tennessee Tech University Parents and Families Association is a group that particularly likes to help parents know when to time things when to make efforts that could encourage their students,” Lykins said. “So, we sent out a suggestion to send a care package to help them during dead week and finals week and usually that means food.”
