Tennessee Tech will utilize grant funding from DENSO to study autonomous electric vehicles.
According to a press release, the DENSO North America Foundation awarded TTU with a $45,000 for the program.
With the funding, Tennessee Tech will launch a new vehicle engineering concentration beginning later this fall.
The program will use an interdisciplinary curriculum between two programs in TTU’s colleges of Engineering and Computer Engineering.
The grant will also provide support for TTU’s competitive Baja SAE and Formula SAW programs.
According to the press release, the total project cost will be $100,000 with the College of Engineering covering the remaining amount.
