TTU Miracle Raising Money For Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital

TTU Miracle working to raise money for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

President Sydney Bass said the campus-wide philanthropy project that works to raise money all year long. She said the funds are used to help the program’s miracle kids and families address their emotional, physical, and financial needs as they go through their healthcare processes.

“It can have such a huge impact,” Bass said. “I’ve known families who they’ve gone through their experiences at the hospitals and stuff and they’ve had the help through these Miracle programs. And then their kids come back and be our Miracle Kids Ambassadors to speak on everything that’s going on and what the importance is behind it.”

Bass said this year they have a goal of raising $100,000. She said throughout the year the group has raised funds through things like “Donuts for Donations” events and a Christmas party for their miracle kids.

Bass said the fundraising efforts culminate with a dance marathon She said this year, Dance Marathon will be a. 4-12 hour event, where the students involved get to meet the patients and the families who have received care at the hospital.

Bass said there are ways to get involved whether you are on campus or just a member of the community. She said you can donate via social media links or sign up to participate hands-on with an event or dance marathon.
