The entire Tennessee Tech campus lost power at 8:00 a.m. this morning.
“We found out that a contractor working for Tennessee Tech had dug up their underground cable feeding the STEM building,” Cookeville Electric Department Director Tony Peak said. “That’s what caused the loss of power to the campus.”
Crews quickly restored power to most of the campus except for the STEM building, chiller, and TTU Facilities Complex.
Peak said crews restored power to the chiller and facilities complex around 10:30 a.m.
Crews were hoping to restore power to the STEM building by Thursday evening.
